In the early morning hours, when the sun is just coming up over the horizon, you can view the frosty coverings that formed on the branches during the chill of the night. Rebecca Frederick photographed this scene just in time, before the sun was able to heat everything up and melt the glittery frost. I like the way she captured the morning hue of blue that you see as the darkness turns into light. Calming, peaceful and a wonderful way to start your day!

I have a favor to ask all of you viewers. My nephew is very sick and I'd appreciate it if you could follow this link for more information and a way you might possibly be able to help: Kevin's Story

Rebecca--

That's the way I like to see winter. You have captured the calm and
peacefulness of the moment perfectly.

I send a message of hope to Kevin. Both my brother and a very close friend are doing very well after cancer treatment. They can do amazing things these days.

What is the estimate of people on this site every week?--100,000 ? @ 5 $ each could raise enough for all the med costs!!

What a beautiful sight after spending a week in Biloxi, Mississippi. Touring all the storm damage from Katrina is terrible. The Copper County is truly "God's country". It was 75 and humid there----would prefer snow anyday to this. Our lake front in Bootjack is 1000% better than the beaches in the gulf coast.!!!! Can't wait to get back in 2 months.

The branches are my favorite also, really brightens everything up.

Ohh, that looks lke a hoarfrost! I do love hoarfrosts! They are beautiful and calming!

At least down in our neck of the woods, when we have a hoarfrost, you do have to be careful driving, as there can be ice & black ice on the roads & highways. My inlaws found that out the hardway many years ago, after a trip north to see us. When they left to go home, we had a hoarfrost. About 20 miles from here, they did a 360 on I-75! I don't know how they managed it, but somehow, they did not hit anything, no one was hurt, and there was no damage.

Mary, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
