Large amounts of snow stood in front of the UPPCO headquarters eight years ago. In this, the year of the low snow, the city will be moving any excess to Michigan Tech statue sites for the university's Winter Carnival.

Hey, cool that the city will dump snow for the techies to make their snow statues! It's a hard theme this year with so little snow....

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 08:56 am:

We've had a nice snow cover in the Flint area for a couple weeks, freshened often by flurries.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 11:23 am:

They will have smaller statues this year, but what are engineers if not creative.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 03:31 pm:

Okay, okay, boy am I stupid! I'm so stupid I used to think a Quarterback was a refund.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 03:42 pm:

Joanie You are not stupid! Never put yourself down. Save that for all of us to do.
Just use this site as it was designed.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 03:47 pm:

Okay, but it still takes me 2 hours to watch 60 Minutes!

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 04:06 pm:

Joanie, you are not stupid, but very quick witted and funny. I think you should be a stand up comedian.
David, I live about 20 miles from Caro.

By Gonna be a Yooper (Joanie) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 05:38 pm:

David, a Finn always has a "pasty" color to their face.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 06:28 pm:

By FRNash/PHX, AZ (Frnash) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 08:41 pm:

While they're having to haul snow for the MTU Winter Carnival snow statues, we're making snow men in the Phoenix, AZ metro area.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 09:47 pm:

David, Rodin would have loved you.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 09:57 pm:

David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn):
"When was the last time you were able to do that in Phoenix?"

On two, not more than three occasions in the past 38 years I have observed no more than a light sprinkling of snow pellets or graupel in my yard; nowhere near enough for making snowmen, though. On at least one occasion I found 2-3" of snow on Cave Creek Road, about 3-5 miles N of Carefree, AZ (20-25 mi NNE of my place in N Phoenix).

By FRNash/PHX, AZ (Frnash) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 10:07 pm:

David, do ya see any similarities? Click® Wikipedia: The Thinker, by Auguste Rodin

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 10:08 pm:

You are posed like Rodins statue of the Thinker so David I was trying to make a joke about it. The original is in front of the Detroit Art center on Woodward across from the library. It is one of my favorite statues.

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Monday, January 22, 2007 - 11:52 pm:

Okay then all up to date on Rodin and I been to the Libary. It's one of mine too Mikie.

Tomorrow's What's up Page Picture will be a snow satue, of the Thinker or something not finshed yet in front of Fisher Hall.

Where did pasty color face Finn go?And that very quick witted and funny gal goanie?

By David Hiltunen (Davidcorrytontn) on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 - 12:08 am:

Thought of the day.. There are more MIR machines in Naples FL.then in all of Canada.

The Two Black coaches going to the Super Bowl, got there threw the ranks of dust bowls,by becoming the best they can be,two fine men.Don't let the Main ST. Media tell you any differant. So what if it's first time 2 black coaches are meeting in the SuperBowl.Afro-Americans or they change it to often.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 - 07:30 am:
