When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When Mother Nature gives you too little snow for snowmobiling, break out the four-wheeler and head out to enjoy. That's what Ashley Byykkonen did this week and the sights she saw were worth the trip. She definitely has an eye for nature's decorations, up close and personal, as shown in these two shots. The contrast of fall and winter in the first photo is what I really found interesting, with the leaves still hanging, the snow you can see in the background and the dripping icicle reflecting the tree behind it, that's quite a composition! Then Ashley caught another dripping spike, against a backdrop of the bluest of blues. The wonders of nature are out there just waiting to be found!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh how beautiful. This weather is so awesome, I just can't believe it. This is like the Detroit winters when I left 11 years ago........let someone have our snow for a winter!!!!! Maybe we will have an early spring!!!!!.......I'm a dreamer what can I say...
Heleninhubbel, I'm a cross-country skiier, and here's my response to the current weather (with apologies to Irving Berlin):
I'm dreaming of a white ski trail Just like the ones I used to know Where the trail is broken But by the same token No rocks show through the snow
I'm dreaming of a white ski trail With every newscast that I hear May the jet stream southward veer And may 6 inches of powder snow be near
