Morning from Lapeer!!

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 08:16 am:

I love my Pasty Cam backgrounds! I always have something interesting on my computer screen at school to talk to my lower el students about. They don't realize that Michigan has mountains, eagles, wolves, mountain lions, etc.

Thanks Pasty Cam and thanks, Dave!

Good mornin' from Muskegon!

By Donna, Muskegon on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 08:23 am:

Another good morning, from Muskegon. Little chilly today, but minimal snow. Thank you for the wonderful pictures. Makes my Christmas away from home just alittle more bearable.

By Gerry and Ron, Mi on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 08:31 am:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

By Debra, Muskegon, MI on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 08:42 am:

Hi Donna from Muskegon! I was wondering if there was anyone else from Muskegon on this site. It's nice to see! What part of the U.P. are you from?

By maijaMI on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 08:46 am:

What would we do without pasty cam?

Well, gotta go buy a new car. This one served me well and has only 92,000 miles on her, but repair would be more than she is worth. She will miss the Keweenaw!

By Uncle Chuck on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 09:14 am:

Maija, go to Shuman in W.L. and get yourself a jeep cherokee, they like the Keweenaw! Ha!

By danbury on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 09:36 am:

maija, what happened? with just 92000, it must be pretty bad if it's cheaper to buy a new one.

Maija, Uncle Chuck and Family,
Hope you all have a great holiday! We're looking forward to visiting with you again this summer at the lake!

By Liz, formerly Calumet on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 10:26 am:

Donna and Debra from Muskegon,
My grandparents lived in Muskegon so we spent vacations and Thanksgivings there. It's been a long time since I snooped around your town. Mom married a Toot and that is where the connection came from. Learned how to fish for rock bass (we called them red-eyes)in Muskegon Lake. Loved those messes of perch fried outside in Grandma's back yard. Of course that was in the 50's and 60's! Don't know if the lake is good fishing anymore or not.

By Wayne Grand Haven on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 10:46 am:

Debra, is Grand Haven close enough?

By Debra, Muskegon, MI on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 10:50 am:

Liz,
I'm 26 years old, so I can't compare what Muskegon was like back then, but it's still a beautiful city along the Lakeshore. Thank goodness for the lake, because the rest is pretty old and industrial. I grew up on a smaller inland lake about 20 minutes East of Lake MI, so I too spent a lot of time fishing ( and still do!). I know that Perch fishing is still quite common on Muskegon Lake. If you get a chance, e-mail me so we can discuss last names. Both of my parents' families are from Muskegon - years and years of history there. Thanks! : )

By Lena,MN on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 11:02 am:

Yooper, I love the fireplace. I hope you do these everyday.

By Debra, Muskegon, MI on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 11:55 am:

Wayne -

Wow - Grand Haven is in our backyard! Very nice to see. Are you originally from the U.P.?

By dave - colorado on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 12:23 pm:

Maija:
Get a Jeep Grand Cherokee... my 1996 has 180,000+ miles on it and is still running strong... That 4.0 liter will just about run forever... Plus you can't beat the all wheel drive...

By maijaMI on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 02:32 pm:

Hey uncle Chuck: haven't heard from you for a while, but Shuman is exactly where I went.

Dave - Colorado: yup, thanks, am doing just that!

By duz on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 05:01 pm:

Sorry, I should've posted my message here before: There are two boats in Bete Gris Bay, does Mr. Bill have any pictures yet?

By Bthecute1, San Jose on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 05:31 pm:

I usually wait until the ashtrays are full before I buy a new car, and no, I don't smoke. :)

By BOOMER, U.P. on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 06:07 pm:

Bthecute1, what do you put in those ashtrays, SJ Shark remains? xoxoxo

By Mr. Bill on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 06:17 pm:

duz,

Mr. + Mrs. Bill are on another Great Lake right now, but alas no ore boats. Take notes, we'll be back on post soon.

Maybe Santa will bring us a pasty.cam for Christmas .... hint, hint .....

By Yooperwanabe on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 06:22 pm:

Mr. Bill, I think I'd like to have your life, if you're on ANOTHER great lake right now, I'm jealous! Happy Holidays to you & Mrs. Bill.

By Ms. Katie on Thursday, December 16, 2004 - 11:38 pm:

Yooper, don't know if you are young or older. Female or male? But I sure do enjoy those thingamajigs you post all the time. So appropate. Love them. Would you tell me how to do this also? Always give me the giggles :)

By Bthecute1, San Jose on Friday, December 17, 2004 - 12:15 am:

Actually no, Mr. BOOMER, I have been stuffing them with the 49er's who are really a waste. :) I would never stuff them with the Sharks. xoxoxo to you too

By C, madison hts. on Friday, December 17, 2004 - 05:37 am:

Lena,MN & Ms. Katie, What Yooper posts is from Smileycentral. Not a good thing to have. my Nortons alerted me about spyware and adware, Nortons quarantined them until I got rid of the website,no more problems.

By Niece Sarah, stuck in Ohio on Friday, December 17, 2004 - 06:56 am:

Maija- If anyone knows about cars it's my Uncle Chuck! Congratulations on getting your new wheels!

Uncle Chuck- How many have you had so far anyway?
Have a great weekend! Sorry I won't be able to see you all on Sunday!
