Hey, Lori from Commerce: it was very nice meeting you in person as well. I am constantly amazed at the opportunities Pasty opens up. Gonna rain for a few days, so I won't be on the trail, but later will be fun to bump into you again!

Good morning from Wixom.

By maijaMI on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 06:33 am:

hey "big foot" Very interesting link you posted in yesterday's 'what's UP' about bigfoot sightings in the U.P. I've always believed bigfoot lived in the north west U.S. but had no idea bigfoot was rumored to be this far east. I wonder if they bury their dead and that is why skeletons have not been found.

Mornin'

By Roudy Mi on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 07:53 am:

Big Louis Moilinen (sp) was the biggest of the big feet in the UP.

By Mr, Bill on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 08:20 am:

Good one Roudy

Wonder how many will get it?

I couldn't remember his name, but I have seen his cabin at the Historical Society.

Snow on the ground in Lakeport, the weatherman here lied to me. My dad told me of Big Louie, what a tail. Then I read about him at the Historical Society, lots of good information there.

Wow, I knew he had big feet, but I never heard he had a tail!

So, Lori from Commerce, I'm originally from Mandon Lake, a Walled Lake Central (72) graduate. I've been a Pasty Cam lurker for quite a while, & just thought I'd check in; is there a list of Commerce/Near Commerce Yooper wannabees? Aren't you in charge of it?

By Fran,Ga on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 02:53 pm:

I remember as a kid we used to stop at that Museum on our Sunday rides around the C.C. His clothes looked sooo big to us kids!!Especially the shoes!

By Roudy Mi on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 04:10 pm:

Doesn't he have tails in that picture of him?

By huh? on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 04:25 pm:

Coat tails I guess

It appears there isn't as much chatter as there use to be. Hope you are still out there Downstate Don. Christmas is coming upon us shortly. I hope you all get some fresh snow for the occasion. I truly miss it during the Holidays.

By downstate don on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 06:29 pm:

Lori, Commerce, Karen also; Lori, Thanks for sharing with us the story on Big Louie. Karen, yes
I am still out here. Been wondering about you and
how was your trip to Maine, Conneticut, etc?

By Alan, Kansas City Mo on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 08:04 pm:

I agree about the chatter.

By Fran,Ga on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 08:12 pm:

Karen and Alan, I agree with you.

By Karen... on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 08:17 pm:

downstate don, the trip to the NW was wonderful. The colors were spectacular this year. You too probably had beautiful color. Maybe we can make it to Copper Harbor again next summer. It's way too cold up north for me in the winter.....'have to settle for the South until retirement anyway. Keep in touch and let me know what Santa gets you!

By Karen... on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 08:26 pm:

downstate don, Not NW, but NE. I do know my directions, but I was testing YOU. Ha! Ha!

By downstate don on Monday, December 6, 2004 - 10:09 pm:

Karen; So good hearing from you. Glad you had a
good trip. Didn't see a whole lot of color here
downstate. Did see a lot of photos on Pasty.Cam
of the colors up North and they were great. No
snow here. We had it a few times and it was gone
in no time. Suppose to get to 52 on Tuesday and
rain all day. Take care. Post once and awhile.

Hi folks
I haven't gotten any response on any pictures of the Electric Park just out side of Calumet. If anyone could help me find a picture of the park the boat swing that was there might show up in it. I plan to replicate the boat swing but would like to see a picture of it first.A few old timers have talked about it and sounds so interesting. thanks

As I recall they also had a picture and clothes of another person called Big Lydia, if I'm not mistaken, at that same museum Fran in GA spoke about..

By Fran,Ga on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 - 09:44 pm:

SDC,I had forgotten about Big Lydia! I wonder if anyone has a picture or info on her?

By SDC, Ferndale, MI on Thursday, December 9, 2004 - 12:09 pm:

Fran, GA
They use to have her picture in that museum and also some clothes she wore were attached on the walls and ceiling.
