I have only recently been reading things on this website, so I don't know any of you. However, I wanted to share my great news that I got engaged last night!! Afterward, I made him promise me that some day would could live in the U.P. He said "no problem". What a guy!! Hope you all have a great weekend!

I asked my hubby (he's a Letter Carrier) about the Porcupine Press last night...he hadn't seen it yet this week. He just called from the Post Office though and said that the Porcupine Press is in today's mail! Your's should be there soon!

For all you folks who slept in this morning, I just had to share what I was rewarded with for being outside shoveling before sun-up today!

It reminds me of the view going down the hill toward Lake Linden from Calumet!

Also, could you tell me if the Calumet "Yooper King" is still open? We heard it was going to go
out of buiseness.
We try to get up there every summer, but didn't make it this year. Thanks

Good memory you have! It's not quite the view from the Calumet Hill (as us Lake Linden folk call it!), but it is in the same direction (east of course). My home is located about 5 blocks south of the hill and I enjoy this view daily!
As for the "Yooper King"...I haven't heard anything about that, maybe someone else can chime in to answer that one!

Debra, don't forget the black flies, mosquitos, and noseem's, you can handle it.

A few years ago a man about 80 years young was telling me about the Electric park, between Calumet and Houghton.He said there was a BOAT SWING there.If someone might have a family picture at the park maybe the boat swing would show up in it. I plan on replicating it(the boat swing) if i get a picture. I went to the MTU and lakelinden archives and they don't have anything. thankyou.
