Our custom at the end of each month here at Pasty Central is to honor the memories of our loved ones and friends who have gone on before us. What better way than with a sunset depicting the close of each day and significantly the winding down of another year. Take a moment and reflect on the names of those we hold in our memories...
Dorothy Baccus Doris L. Beck William Joseph "Joe" Blake Arnold "Arnie" Edwards Clement "Maco" Miller Rev. Dr. E. Olaf Rankinen Our servicemen and women who've given the ultimate sacrifice
I have to add a personal note about one of the above names who was a special man in my life. Clement "Maco" Miller... I'll always remember him as a smiling, helping soul, who would visit with our family on Sunday's, taking my brothers and I for ice cream, eating dinner with us and then playing pinochle with our family. May he rest in peace along with all the others who've passed on.
To let everyone know that knew her DORIS L. BECK former owner of EMIL BECK'S SAUNA BATH passed away 12/29/04 at 7:15pm to be with late husband EMIL NORMAN BECK who was born in Painsdale and raised in Calumet. Services will be at R.G. & G.R. I think it would be great at the 1st of each month to announce the births of all children born the previous month. Rick & I would be able to announce our 8th grandchild who is due about the 10th of this month. In fact we're leaving in a few days for Florida so we'll be there for its birth. We'll let you all know when we come back. We'll also be thinking of you in the UP while we're in sunny Florida. Jen & Jack planned their baby's arrival at the right time-in the winter to get us away from all of the snow! haha!!!

In memory of Eddie Rouleau, my parents neighbor. Rest in peace. My sympathies to the family. I remember Mr. Rouleau cheering for the Hancock High School hockey team and encouraging me as I shot hoops at Laurn grove or ran up North Street as he was cutting the lawn. He always had a huge smile and a cheerful hello.

julwisc: all good wishes to you in your new found happiness. You have survived everyone's worst nightmare--except maybe losing a child that way. You deserve the best! God forgive all those addicted to alcohol who can, and do, cause such horrible harm.

My heart goes out to all who has lost a loved one. Dealing with loss can be a hard road - I have traveled that road often in my lifetime. This year I lost a good friend/co-worker Norine. I miss you Dew!
My "In Memory" for this month/year however, is for a little angel I had known for over 7 years. I was never very fond of cats but I was blessed with Cosmo who taught me to soften my heart and to know what unconditional love is truly about.
He was a bit skitish but nothing felt better than each night as I was drifting off to sleep, I would feel the softest paws slip under my cheek for me to rest on and I knew that he felt safe with me. I was entrusted to care for an angel!
In loving memory of my grandparents, Floyd and Violet Hartman. We miss you very much!
