The Keweenaw is well on its way to the winter wonderland it always becomes as the calendar gets closer to a new year. This little Yooper started out making the most of the white stuff by building himself a fine looking snowman, but then his best friend decided he'd make the most of the snow guy's nose! Kim Beyer captured the priceless expression on her youngster's face... It looks like he must have been calling for "MOM!", to help save Mr. Snowman's schnozzola.

Good morning everyone! Very nice image - that kids face says it all. And that eye looks pretty palatable too,........

I think...the dog figured that his little master may have gotten a new pet..... and he'd let him know who is the boss!!....a beautiful picture!!! We had a Golden-Retriever who looked just like that dog and he was my little son's very best protector!!!

I'm afraid, down here today, it would be a slush-man for sure.

By wgaulin, WI on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 09:12 am:

Good Morning from a very chilly Elkhorn Wisconsin. We received quite a bit of the white stuff last night but all of the sun in todays forecast should take care of it. I love the picture today, soooo cute!!!

By Debra, Muskegon, MI on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 10:06 am:

Good morning from Muskegon, MI. I hear ya wgaulin from WI, the snow is so beautiful this morning, but is supposed to be all gone by this afternoon.
Wish I was in the U.P.! : ) Always! Even though I have grown up in Michigan and have heard of pasties all of my life, I have never had one or seen one. Can someone tell me what's in them? Are they all the same? Thanks! : )

Very cute picture.

By Gail, IL. on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 10:23 am:

Too Cute! Our golden retriever carefully snuck around from behind and stole our snowman's nose...a carrot...to afraid of the white guy!

By Hilarie, Norway,MI on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 10:25 am:

Wish we had more snow in Norway, MI. Norway gets a good amount of snow every year, but typically has much less than the rest of the U.P.

cute picture!

By Bthecute1, San Jose on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 11:19 am:

The golf course is white with frost. Only 34ºF here in San Jose. (But the sun is shining so it is sure to warm up.

Leave it to Roudy to see the terror on the snowman's face! LOL! Poor thing.... There went his nose, he has a right to be frightened! And the little one is shocked! He learned the hard way that dogs often love carrots! Crunch-crunch-crunch! Allll gone!

By Debra, Muskegon, MI on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 01:48 pm:

Thank you for sending me the Pasty information. I went through the entire site and found it really interesting. I think it's really neat and hope some day to be up there making pasties too! :) Thanks again and I'll be ordering soon!!

By the looks of the bridge cam, it looks like that little one in the picture won't be the only one having fun in the snow... Looks like it's really coming down!

By Christy, New Boston on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 06:45 pm:

Growing up in Hancock I remember wearing boots to go trick or treating. I miss the quietness of the snow!!! We had a few flakes this morning but it was all gone by noon. Now it's just cold. Thanks for the great pictures, they always make me homesick!

By Lowell MO. on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 07:42 pm:

We had snow here in north central Missouri but the sun came out and it warmed up so ours is mostly all gone. Nothing like the picture. Only about an inch or so.

By ZS on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 - 07:46 pm:

Good evening from Grand Haven MI. Cute pic. We only got a couple of inches of snow here.
