Sitting on the couch with only the light of a waning fire - and bam, a couple gazillion candlepower searchlight, lights up the room like a prision break at Sing Sing. That sure gets your attention~

Gale warnings to 50 mph posted for the eastern two thirds of Superior, prompted a new arrival at 9:31 last night in Bete Grise bay. Can't make out here name yet today, but she's one of the largest that I've seen here.

I was so excited when the temp here finally dropped below 50 degrees, and immediately fired up the fireplace. Now we're back to 75 today, so I'm living vicariously through your post!

Storms on the lakes today was an appropriate backdrop for the EDMUND FITZGERALD services today at MARINERS CHURCH in Detroit. As usual the church was packed with those paying their respects to the 29 men who lost their lives aboard the FITZ on Nov 10, 1975

On average, how much for a gallon of regular gas up there? Down here in Florida, it is about 2.07. These gas prices are ridiculous, didn't we free the people of Kuwait about 14 years ago? Thanks for the "thank you."

Count your blessings, mid-grade is $2.19 here, but in Chicago two weeks ago it was $2.57.

The trend-line is going only one way ... If it wasn't for our remote-ness, and the fact that it's too new (first model year), I'd have tried an Escape hybrid last week instead of a standard V6 that I purchased.

It's down to $2.21 at our local station here in the Sacramento area for regular, but 30 cents more for premium...

Hi everyone,missed Pasty cam and all of you.we were in Panama City Beach for 3wks and it was restful. The sky high Condos are over taking the beach tho. Such a shame. $2.34 or so here for regular in Ventura County.

Saw a "cut rate" here in Torrance,Ca. @ $2.28/gal. reg. unleaded. Paid $2.03 for same in Ashland,Or. a week ago....

Gas was $1.92.9 (regular unleaded) here in Commerce Twp, Mi, yesterday... I paid $2.14.9 in Hancock and $1.99.9 in L'Anse on Monday of last week on my travels back from the U.P.

We got a fill up in Baraga yesterday for 1.90

Got to see the Huskie's game yesterday at the "Big House" in Ann Arbor. Was disappointing to see them lose, of course, but was really neat to see all of the people there rooting for the Huskies. Michigan Tech hats and shirts everywhere! My uneducated guess would be that the MTU people far out numbered GVSU people even though GVSU is MUCH closer to Ann Arbor. Had to be a lot of traffic north bound on I-75 today!

The Northern Lights were awesome in Green Bay!!

Hopefully, someone with a camera will capture some of those wonderful dancing Northern lights -- we don't get them here in California :(

I payed 1.69 in the Toledo, OH area today.

All I can say is WOW to the northern lights, had them all the way from Wausau back north sure made a quick ride of it.

We can see the Northern lights in Oxford, Mi. Get some one out there with a camera! We can't see to much color here, but they are putting on quite a show.
