For all the hunting widows left at home and those of you that don't go out for the big event yourselves, Tim Minich gives us a glimpse into what I imagine, is part of the thrill of going to the hunting camp each November. The sun shining through the nearly leaf-less trees in this shot, gives you a feeling of nirvana. See, now, you all thought that the hunt or the camp companionship was what drew your significant others away for two weeks every year, when in all reality it's just the beauty that awaits them each morning in the U.P. woods!

Dr. Nat will not be on here for a while as her father had quintuple (sp?) bypass surgury on Friday that I'm happy to say was successful. She will be in Houston TX through Thanksgiving and will return to Vegas (and Pastycam) on the 29th. I will also return to Houston to be with the family for Thanksgiving so it should be a nice time.
As for todays pictures, it reminds me of a time where even if I didn't get a deer, it sure was nice just sitting out in the woods away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A time collect ones thoughts and enjoy the peace and serenity of the outdoors. Obviously I won't be out this year, but next year, look out elk!!! ;-)

As usual the 15th is here and here I set in Anderson, Indiana longing to be in the UP. Staring out into the woods. Thanks for the cam picture... probably as close as I'll get this year. I guess I won't shoot myself after all ! tee hee. Ps.. Is that a 10 pointer in the very back of the pic? Maybe we'll see a deer.

Good morning from Elkhart Indiana. Were about ten miles east of South Bend IN. Todays picture looks like it could have been taken around here. Our yard is completely covered with leaves.
I really wish I was back in the UP.

to Capt Paul and Dr. Nat: I'm sending you good wishes. My Dad had a quintuple bypass over 30 years ago. He lived to be 90.

Reminds me of McLain Park, except there it is mostly pine, with sun filtering through. Yesterday there were couples with their dog, a party of women (with dog), a fast-paced walker, several folks alone--a good number of folks just out enjoying the Fall, the sound of The Lake, and crisp air. What a great park. What a great time of the year!

I believe this is the accident you asked about Maija, in reference to the Chassell teens.
