Wind power is now cheaper than coal and could become a leading source of electricity with the right political support and investment, researchers said Thursday. The Stanford engineers calculated that building some 225,000 wind turbines across the country would be expensive — at an initial cost of $338 billion — but that the payback would include a huge drop in emissions tied to global warming.

Hi all
I wanted to thank all who offered to record the
Ahmeek Cemetery. The Allouez Township Supervisor
gave me a complete burial list which i am currently databasing and it will be on the
Keweenaw County Rootsweb site.
Now if Copper Harbor would record their Cemetery
it would be wonderful! How bout' it you Harborites, lets get it on line!
Geneology before housework!

I hope everyone--or at least everyone who lives east of the fault--had a chance to read Roger Wickstrom's article in Monday's DMG about measuring radioactivity in our water. His article contains a lot of useful information, including the costs of various tests and the reasons why the most expensive tests probably aren't necessary here.
