Christmas Day eight years ago brought this shot of a freighter on Lake Superior. Today we have about five inches of snow on the ground in the Copper Country, with an inch or two on the way.

Dean says there is 5 inches of snow on the ground... maybe in Hancock where he is, but up here in Eagle River - Eagle Harbor - Copper Harbor, we have absolutely NO SNOW. We are thinking of going out and mowing the grass here. I'll see if we can find a video camera to document it. That aerial photo from Neil Harri is still a good picture of how it appears here today. I was thinking the same thing as Charlie said up above me here...there's certainly not 5 inches of snow here in Lake Linden either. There's a patch here and there, but for the most part it's bare ground. (Sorry, no aerial shot of Lake Linden to attach here! ;->}
