Today's Pasty Cam archives pulls up this photo of the Chutes and Ladders playground on the Houghton waterfront, just west of the bridge.

That area is covered with snow today, as the Lake Superior snow machine keeps crankin'. For those living locally and enjoying a good sing, the Calumet Theatre and Keweenaw National Historical Park are sponsoring a Messiah sing-along tonight at 7:30 at the theater. Some of the greatest music ever written in a cozy location.

Little Alexzander Gregory Drew was born yesterday, Dec. 4th. He weighs 6 lbs. 8 1/4 oz. and is 19 inches long. And of course he's GORGEOUS!! :-)
Mommy (Mariah) and Daddy (Alan), big brother (Zavier), along with Papa and Grandma are proud as can be!

Congratulations grandma and grandpa. Aren't grandbabies wonderful. I always say they are the reward for surviving the trials and tribilations of your own kids! :>)

My wife and I have been downstate lately. So I am catching up
on past editions of Pasty.com. I see yesterday where Maija was
happy that the dove hunting proposal was shot down by the
voters. She worried that maybe some people did notcare for her
opinion. Well, Maija, I thought you would like to know that even
here in Delta County, that proposal was shot down! If a hunting
proposal can't even make it in the U.P., you know it was
questionable in a very big way.

For all the aviation fans on PastyCam, lookie what appeared on the ramp at CMX today:



A brand spanking new Cirrus SR22, apparently still registered to the manufacturer: Cirrus Design Corp, Duluth, MN (I didn't know they were in Duluth!)

Trivia department:
This newer SR22 is a virtual look alike to the earlier SR20 model (N929CD) that crashed into an apartment building in New York City on October 11, 2006 with pilot and owner New York Yankee player Cory Lidle and his California based flight instructor on board.

A very nice aircraft, if you happen to have somewhere between the base price (new) of $350,000 to over $500,000 for the turbocharged edition.

(I need to win that Powerball lottery!)

Speaking of winning the Lotto:

A man rushes into his house and yells to his wife, "Martha, pack up your things. I just won the California lottery!"
Martha replies, "Shall I pack for warm weather or cold?"
The man responds, "I don't care. Just so long as you're out of the house by noon!"

I think if we won the powerball, I'd forget about the aircraft and retire to the UP at an early age ;-)

Mary, congratulations on the new grandson. They grow way to fast. The new little granddaughter I met on Dec. 29, 2000 is now a big kindergarten student and ready to celebrate her 6th birthday. Enjoy the new little guy every chance you get, Mary.
