Eight years ago, the Pasty Cam caught Calumet Postmaster Dennis Pini on a visit to Still Waters. Today it is a reminder that tomorrow starts a new month and it's time to think about shipping those packages . . . and ordering some pasties!

Very early one morning two birds are sitting at the side of a large puddle of oil. They see a worm on the other side. So ... the one flies over and the other one swims through-which one gets to the worm first? The one who swam, of course, because "Da oily boid gets da woim."

It was 17 degrees when I was on my way this morning. It has been snowing constantly all morning. Winter is finally here.

My son's having surgery today so am watching his little darlings. Brought the little girl off to school but have to "play" with Ben. He's starting to drive me nuts. LOL

Deb, that is cold! I guess that kind of weather is heading our way. It was 64 here again yesterday, but today it is in the 30's and snow it on the way.

Well I must admit, today is the first day since I've lived in the Keweenaw that I actually heard a front "roar" across an area. I was standing outside my office building (along with other people) and watched the front coming in and you could actually hear it blowing through downtown Houston, which is about 4 miles away.

At 8am this morning, it was 77° and humid. By 8:30, it was 40° with a stiff North wind and now at 5pm it's 35° with a wind chill of 27!! I'm loving it, but most people here don't share the same joy ;-)

In memory of Rodney:
Its been a rough day. I got up this morning ... put on a shirt and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase and the handle came off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom
