Do you remember making snow angels? My back sure does. When the kids were small, I was dragging them in a plastic sled in the back yard, panking down the snow for some fun. I was knee-deep in snow when I heard a sudden noise, made a quick turn and was down for the count. My back twisted...my legs didn't...and I went crawling for the house making snow snakes instead of angels.

Every once in a while we get to do that here. If I get lonesome for it, we just go to NM. The girls made sand angels in Lake Superior sand this summer. Can you tell me what is behind the fence. Looks like a glob of steel or something. Maybe I'm too old to recognize it.

Well, finally we're seeing Keweenaw weather here in Houston; 28 this morning when I left for work, which is 11 degrees colder than Calumet was when I checked at 6:40. But. to look at everyone you'd think it was -28 the way they are dressed. Too funny......

Many years ago, when we lived in Marquette, there was an article in
the Mining Journal warning us "Beware the wiley snow snake." It
went on to explain that it would drop down and bite you with its
cold fangs (or something to that effect). It was hilarious! I'm going
to look in my file cabinet and see if I can find the article. But in the
meantime, here was his picture of the snowsnake...

Joanie/gonna be a yooper...Something's been gnawing on me lately maybe you can explain. Is your term "Ill-annoy" a bad reflection of we who live in Illinois? Altho I'm a Milwaukeean in my heart, I've lived here in Illinois for nearly 50 years and have come to love my adopted state. All my kids were born here and one buried here. Altho this state will never be home like Wisconsin or the home my of ancestors like the UP, Il. is a good and handsome state many ways. Just wondering.

It was just on the noon news that a freighter (I think the ALGOWAY) is stuck in the Saginaw river at Bay City.

Ms. Katie, it's just an affectionate term given to me by a lovable Pasty Cam member, don't take it personal.

Saying a prayer today for Qynn Marie Scott who passed away suddenly. May you rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy to her parents, Don and Kathy and to Qynn's little girl.

Katie is a loving grandma who would never intentionally hurt anyones feelings.

I know Katie is a sweet heart, everyone has a bad day! We got squared away, no problemo!

I use to work with Qynn at Pat's in Ontonagon. That is a tragic loss for her family indeed. She will be deeply missed! May God Bless her daughter and her family. She was buried today.

May Qynn rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. And her loved ones find peace also in His embrace.
