These two photos come from Grant Soehnel's album in our ever expanding Guest Gallery. These are immediate attention grabbers with the view of Lake Superior framed in the first shot by dark branches and evergreens and the sun illuminating the wind swept waters out beyond the shoreline. That second shot really gives you a good view of the surface of Superior looking like she's already covered with a sheet of ice when, in reality, that's just the wind whipping over the top of the water, giving it a ripple effect. Blue skies, white clouds and Lake Superior, does it get any better than this? :->

The pictures of the UP always make me smile. Miss being in God's Country. Doing my count down till we get back to Bootjack---6 months.!! Yea.

Brrr....looks beautiful, but cold. I moved down south to Lansing to get away from the cold...dang, it's nothing like the brochure.

It might not be a good idea to mess with Superior in winter, but one of my most beautiful sailing memories contains below-freezing temps, a nice 2-3 Bft breeze, moonshine (from above, not to drink) and a 420-dinghy.

Looks cold for sure...can't get away from the cold. Had 39 degrees here this morning in the panhandle of Florida, but warming up nice to the 70's.
