Just a few days back, there was talk about raking the leaves and jumping in them. Thanks to Brita Haapla and one of her youngsters, we get a first-hand look at just such an adventure. According to Brita, this young man claimed his predicament here was comfy and, if the grin on his face is any indication, he's thoroughly enjoying himself! Moving on to her second shot, we get a glimpse into what a stroll in the bush is like here in the U.P., right now. Even after the winds we've been experiencing, you'll still find a few leaves holding tight to the branches, giving us a lingering look at the color of fall.

What a cute picture! Most of us can probably remember burying ourselves in leaves in the fall. That pic is a great flashback of my childhood, but it would be fun to do now with my grandsons.

Why look! It's the Li'l Pumpkin, Chalie Brown! Ahhh, to be young and allergy-free again, and to jump in a pile of leaves wheeze-free! Maybe I'll do it anyway... Thanks for making me feel a little younger this morning.

I remember those days quite well. What fun we had raking the leaves into a pile and jumping in them. Those were the days (even though I wouldn't want to relive them).

Neat pictures! We have 5 big maples in our yard that "molt" lots of leaves. We also have 7 children that have "molted" 27 grandkids. I used to entice them, when they were all here on a Sunday, to rake those leaves in big piles by the ditch, by telling them what fun it was to jump in those leaf piles! Then the next day, without much effort on grandpas part, I would burn them! (We live in the country, no ordinance to prevent burning them!) It worked for a few years. Now the greatgrand kids (6) are to small to rake them, so grandpa now uses his blower to pile them up for the little ones to play in! GO TIGERS!! DEEE--TROIT BASE---BALL!! Euchre club here tonight, card playing may be distracted at times!

thanks again, Brita.
About allergies: that's what's hard down here in trollville. Rainy, wet, mush of leaves turning moldy!

Brita, I knew it was your shots even before I read Mary's fine intro. You are making great memories for your kids and we get to enjoy them too. Thanks! Does Violet romp in the leaves too?

This reminds me of the time my niece Christina and I were walking down a back road after a fresh fall of powder snow, and we decided to flop down by the side and make snow angels. ... Well, I forgot about the ditch. We fell backwards into three feet of snow and disappeared in a white cloud. Very cold, but at least there were no slugs.

Now that is one of the things I miss about Michigan...the leaves turning colors and falling on the ground ;) Leaves here in Indiana are still green by the lake...and the leaves that have fallen off the trees during the rain and high winds are also green. Sigh.

Those leaves put quite a glow on his cheeks, I like the shot of the little tree hanging on to its leaves, too. One more thank you to Brita

Brita: I love all of the photos of your beautiful children. They are always well-groomed, well-dressed (and I'll bet they're well-behaved!) and most importantly -- from their shining faces you can see that they are happy children. I look forward to watching them grow up through your wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing!

AJinWI: I couldn't agree more! I've said similiar comments about these kids a few times before here. But then I must admit I'm a bit prejudiced--- they remind us so much of our 5 a generation back and now our grandkids too!
