Recently, after a full day at work, Z-Man decided to take the long way home and thank goodness he did! This shot is of Bond Falls, near Ontonagon. With the leaves suspended on the rocks and the running water trying, but not able, to snatch them into the flow, you can just feel the toil of the day washing away. Now that most of the snow is melted away from last week's storm, the falls are rushing and gushing once more. Leave it to Z-Man to make the water look smooth as silk!

I've been telling you Bond Falls is wonderful! If you haven't been there since the improvements to accessibility have been made, it's time to go again. You'll be amazed at what a difference it makes to approach them from a different direction. Right, Z-Man? Super picture!

What a beautiful picture. Looks like a very expensive painting one would see in a gallery. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Yes Marsha the accessibility to the lower part of the falls is a vast improvement to what it used to be to get down there. From the lower parking lot it is a short trip on a paved path to the wooden walkway and bridge at the bottom of the falls.

Thanks, Z-man, for taking the road less travelled. I have 'bonded' with that falls several times and it always refreshes me. Great photos, sir.

Is there more than one set of "Bond Falls" in the UP? Mary said they were near Ontonagon, but we always visit the Bond Falls when we go to see the Paulding Light. Those falls are probably 70 miles south of Ontonagon.
Mary says: Hmm...here in the U.P., 70 miles IS near Ontonagon, just like someone who lives a mile away from you in the country, is still your neighbor! :-> Maybe I should have said Ontonagon County.

I remember when we were in the UP everything we wanted to see was 1/2 mile- well, some of those trails were a very long 1/2 mile- maybe as the crow flies? LOL. Great picture. I look forward to a shorter walk to the falls.

Just a few short weeks ago and I was there! Bond Falls are beautiful and well worth seeing. Z-Man you made my day. My husband got some lovely pictures of the falls and even caught a Blue Heron in one shot. What a wonderful month September was and all spent in the UP.
