Joyce Tormala's pumpkin patch has its own special guard, who actually has just about as many names as he does toes! Mittens, Bigfoot, Toe, Fingers, Kitten and my personal favorite, Pasty-Paws (derived, I'm guessing, from the number of appearances this kitty has had on the Pasty Cam). With those huge paws, he's perfectly suited for protecting the jack o'lantern's or maybe he's cut out to be good at snagging fish out the water, like the Little Elm River in this second shot from Joyce. What a great example of the look of fall in the Keweenaw.

Nice shots! I'm glad we got there when we did last week cuz as we were leaving, I noticed a lot of the leaves falling.

What a nice picture with the kitty. I have a cat name Monkey she has extra toes on front and back paws. Thank you for the wonderful pictures everyday I look forward to see what next.

Deb,
Boy you said a mouth full there. The trees are now looking pretty bare and we had some more strong winds Sunday and some on Monday morning. I actually heard the "S" word on the radio this morning. It is supposed to start tomorrow and in some places accumulate to 10".

I am not ready yet.

WOW! Those are big paws! They look like catcher's mits!

Whatever that kitty is homing in on doesn't stand a chance! "Oh kitty! What BIG paws you have!"
"The better to catch you with my dear"........
Hehe....Anyway, black and white kitties are my favorite! They seem to be a bit crazier than others I have had. Neat shots!

I agree, my black-and-whites all had charming personalities and a wicked sense of humor. They happened to be lousy mousers. I suspect B&Ws all have some Siamese in them which accounts for their intelligence and quirkiness. Great photos by the way!

Kitty says: "You toucha mah pumpkin, I scratcha yer pantleg!"

We have 3 cats and all have a different personality. The white/tiger is the smartest cat I have ever seen; good hunter (can catch mosquitos out of mid-air), agile and loves water. The Weegie we have, on the other hand, is clumbsy and dumber than a brick!! And the "Oracle" is the all white cat that has the attitude she should still be treated like Egyptian royalty. We still love them to death though, and spoil them rotten........

We are under a "Winter Storm Watch" here in Calumet.
Better get those pumpkins out of the garden!

Looks like one of those uncommon genetic occurences with six toes! We had one once long ago.
Beautiful cat and photos!

I thought my cat "Frankie Pickle Watermellon Bubba Sugar Lump" kitty had a lot of names and has big paws, this guy wins "paws down".

Thanks for the cheer! This little goomer has been a real help with bulb planting. He appears out of nowhere to till the soil and before I have a chance to tell him I don't need help,he is gone. He area of expertise is the long jump. My husband used to think a cat is a cat is a cat. Now that he is older and wiser,he can tell by the sound of the footfalls, which of our 3 felines is walking the floor. They certainally do have different personalities. This particular one has a great sense of humor. In this picture he is stalking our reserved, humorless Tortie. They were following me around our sorry pumpkin patch, probably muttering to each other about what a lame hike this is!
His first name was Pasty Paws. Back when he was about the size of a golf ball,my cousin said,"Oh,look at those pasty paws.Oh,look at how he snuggles with you.Oh,look,he LIKES you. He wants to go home with you. Oh,look, isn't he cute!?" Twist my arm. When he was old enough to leave mama and I proudly presented him to my own family, they said, "Oh,look at this,this...what IS this?"
When I gave his first scolding,I held him to the mirror to show the bad puddy tat what a bad puddy tat looks like. He craned his neck to come nose to nose with the kitty in the mirror and immediately started to purr.

heehee. thanks for the smile Joyce...what a cute kitty story, purring at himself in the mirror! I knew it was your photo the instant I saw it on the opening pasty cam page. Good stuff!

By Shanna Klein (Marksshanna) on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 - 10:44 am:

My black cat Zoey that has a few white spots on her chest and belly likes to sit in front of the mirror I have standing on the floor. Sometimes I think she is staring at herself saying, "What a pretty kitty." Then other times, I think she is just watching her back for the other cat to come start a wrestling match. Zoey is Fluffy's favorite toy. Fluffy is a gray tiger with tan spots and medium length fur. One of her favorite spots to sit is on top of the computer monitor where it is warm. That is fine except that usually her fur and a paw and sometimes a furry tail obstruct my view of the screen. But I wouldn't have it any other way, their personalities and behavior crack me up each and every day.
