This has to be a Pasty Cam first...flying right up there at the top of the rainbow. What a great shot by E. Neil Harri, taking us along for the ride above the Chassell area. If you can take your eyes off the colors of the rainbow we're flying right into, you'll see the hues of the leaves changing into their autumn attire down below. This shot was actually taken about a week ago, so the trees are much more colorful right now, but I didn't think you'd mind, since this gives us a great view of some unique fall color in the Keweenaw!

Great picture!

Nice! We're leaving in about 1/2 hour to see it for ourselves! I sure hope the Hut is going to be open on Saturday!

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Thursday, October 5, 2006 - 07:21 am:

I have seen alot of rainbows, even double and triple ones, but never viewed a rainbow from the sky. This picture is really nice!

This must have been Saturday! I was at an outdoor wedding and after a brief shower a huge rainbow appeared - All during the ceremony! CONGRATULATIONS Emily and Scott!!!!!!

THAT is a perfect picture! The rainbow, the land, the sky and the water all combine beautifully! We leave tomorrow morning bright and early. (Early anyway.)

That is an awesome view!

Wondrous!

I should've mentioned the shot on my profile is taken out my living room window in Aura.

That is subtly and uniquely beautiful.

I hope the colors in the Northern Lower hold on til next weekend.

By Lorelei (Lorelei) on Thursday, October 5, 2006 - 09:47 am:

Wow Marsha! You are one lucky lady to have that beautiful lake and view right outside your window. I would have to live there all year long. I know I would have a hard time leaving to go home. Travel safe!

Deb S. I hope you and Mr. Deb have a safe trip as well.

Great Picture today, but then when isn't it. Dry roads to all you travelers, though that probably excludes rainbows? I'm hoping to arrive UP around midnight Friday. If you see a rather tall geezer on a bicycle trying to keep up with his wife anywhere from Copper to Eagle Harbor next week, say hi! I could use the excuse to stop!

That is a view of a rainbow I have never seen before. Great shot Neil. The other day someone mentioned that the Algolake would be making a stop in Hancock this week with a load of salt. I noticed on the soo locks web cam that a 1,000 footer is heading up lake right now.Could that be the Algolake? Here is the web link to the soo locks cam.

Beautiful shot. I'd like to go somewhere over the rainbow right now....

I sure do miss fall in the UP; the smell and the bright, vibrant colors. Here in Eagle River AK the leaves turn shades of yellow, rather blah.

By Helen (Heleninhubbel) on Thursday, October 5, 2006 - 11:09 am:

oh my..........what a peaceful, serene picture............couldn't you just fly away ??? Gosh, what a beautiful picture makes you feel like you're flying!!! (when I was little I always thought if I could just jump really high I'd be flying) What a blessed person you are Neil to be able to experience this picture and share it with us.....Thank you so much.....

Blessings for your day........

Beautiful sky picture...love the rainbow :)

Deb and Mr. Deb: You forgot to pick me up :) I really won't take up much space...just tie me to the luggage rack or something, and head your vehicle towards da UP :)

Marsha, I love the picture on your profile.

From what I read the Algolake might be in Hancock already, if I am reading this right 5/0200, this would be the 5th at 0200 hours.

ALGOLAKE - 4/0400 due Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan 4/1415 for a partial unload of salt then completes unloading in Hancock,
Michigan ETA 5/1650. 4/0934 upbound De Tour, Michigan. 5/0200 28 miles West Northwest of Whitefish Point, Michigan Light.

Stay tuned for Monday's Pasty Cam to see several spectacular pictures of the Algolake arriving. They're worth the wait! ;->
