A look up Calumet Avenue (US-41) eight years ago. Note the color in the upper left. This year, color has progressed to 40 percent, so far, with the peak still expected the first week of October. It is a great time to live in the Keweenaw.

On a different note, I was made aware of a terrific website in Africa were the animals go to drink in a pond, called Pete's Pond. Website is

Is there a parade going on today? It's about 11:30 and it looks like a parade going across the bridge (on the MTU bridge cam).

by the way..I went to that Africa cam last night..now that is really cool. Saw baboons, some kind of deer/gazelle or something..a big croc in the pond...a big flock of big pigeon looking birds..but huge ... great cam

You must've tuned in at a good time of day! When should we be looking at the cam, our time?

I started watching about 10pm central...
it was pretty good again around 11am...and
watched the sunrise last night...there was a lot of action.
