Eight years ago, the Pasty Cam showed a Calumet High School football practice. The season started last night -- a sure sign of fall. Can the changing of the leaf colors be far behind?

The weather report says partly cloudy...all the clouds must have parted the state and landed above here...it looks terrible..dark and gloomy.

Ah! Football! The kind American's play.

I really miss the bridge cam

soccer is truly "football", whereas American football, imo, is misnamed...yes, they use their feet to run, but only during kicking is it football.
What would be a better name for the sport?
it came from soccer and rugby, where they did use their feet more than anything else. They could hit the ball with their hands, but vould not carry it, or throw it.

we never had a football team in Chassell, so high school football was not all that interesting to me. I remember Calumet always having a pretty good tesm. though. I went to a game in Lake Linden one time...and one in Houghton, but that was about it.

Dave, They need to cut a lot of trees down that hide the beauty of the area. I know what you mean about that sign. Every time I go through Houghton I remember going home from grandma's at night and that sign going back and forth. Hope it's always there.

Back in our day football in Lake Linden was terrible. I think we were about the dregs of the league. The past several years, though, Lake Linden has even won state championships. That's great for such a little town. Going to school in Lake Linden, we didn't care much for the Copper Kings or the Gremlins. BIG rivalries there.
