Good morning all from a stormy SW Michigan!

Since Pasty Cam visitors are located all over, I wanted to mention that on Labor Day Weekend (Sat & Sun only) in Lansing Michigan; at the MSU Pavilion is the annual, Lamafest. Llamas and alpacas from all over the country converge in this fabulous facility to compete in this second largest show in the nation. There are also sales from vendors and artisans. All this is open to the general public and is free!

If you are in the area and interested – stop in. Llamamama will be there at Berries and Llamas – stop by and say Hi!

Woo-hoo! I'm back to work (school) and my computer is hooked up! They wipe out my Favorites every year, but I'm off to a good start and now have pasty.com in first place!

Enjoy your school year. My boys start back on the 5th. Wooooo Hooooo!

Marsha--You're back early. I'll be back setting up next week, but
school doesn't start for me til the day after Labor Day.

Our school is the only one in Genesee County to start early this year. All that will change next year when our teacher contracts expire and we will also start after Labor Day. Actually, I like this way better. The kids have their minds on their work in August more than they do in June. We usually get out about June 4.

Marsha, if you do enough inservice during the year, and/or lengthen the school day (by only minutes) you can keep the early end but start later. They did that in the district I retired from and got out around June 4 (or however that fell that year) and still do not start (for kids) till after Labor Day.

We are finishing up week 2 and it is toooooo warm in this part of the country. We start so early because the high school wants to finish 1st semester before Christmas. Of course we get out in mid May depending on how many snow days we use.

Jillann, we are also about to finish week two of the school year. We start early for the same reason you do-to end the first semester before Christmas. Who sold this idea to the school districts? I wasn't thrilled to go back so early. Thankfully this is the first year our whole building has been air conditioned. It's much cooler in the library than it's been the other 19 years I started school.
