The Tamarack Inn in Copper Harbor, as it stood eight years ago and pretty much how it stands today. As Labor Day quickly approaches, the summer season is winding to a close and merchants will wait for the leaf peepers. In fact, some of the trees on US-41 just south of Copper Harbor have started to change already.

Paul, you mention it being a great day in Osceola Township. Is that Livingston County by chance. My in-laws lived on Pardee Lake. My wife's brother and also her sister and their spouses live on Pardee Lake yet.

Just had to say that I've just joined here and don' really have much to say. Was a student at Tech for 2 years a long time ago and miss the place. One of the things I look forward to is coming to work, firing up my workstation and looking at the bridge cam to see what the weather is like.

When I have occasion to linger, I look at the pictures and sometimes drift back to my time in Houghton. I have revisited the area 4 or 5 times in the last 30 years and feel it's time for another rediscovery tour. My youngest has never been that far North in Michigan and that's 18 years!!
Times surely flies. I do have one question that prompted
my joining here. Perhaps someone knows the answer.

I've noticed the weather has been remarkably the same for the past 3 weeks! :)
I assume the bridge cam is not updating and I was wondering if this is permanent or will it be repaired?
Hope today was a fine one and that tomorrow will be another finer day.

Martin, the bridge cam has been stuck for quite a while. Here is a link to the MTU web cams. If you haven't seen this you will really like it. Especially the Fund Cam. Click on motion. We have only visited the area once. That was 5 years ago, but we are looking forward to going back up there.

Just can't seem to fall asleep....thinking of all the things I have to do in order to be ready to leave here Wednesday for the UP. Once the trailer is packed we are out of here! Looking forward to being back in the UP again.
