One glance at this photo from Peg Hardt and you know you've got a winning way to de-stress your day. With nothing on the water except you (and a few clouds), the freedom you feel UP North is indescribable. No matter what lake this is, it's a rare occurrence to find it so calm that the clouds reflect like they belong below tree level. In fact, if it wasn't for those trees cutting in between the water and the sky, you'd have a tough time discerning where the water ends and the sky begins.

Oh my gosh, that looks like Dad, favorite hat and all, except he died in 1998! He loved canoeing. I would like to think the Good Lord sent him back for a little while to canoe on calm waters. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face and a few tears to my eyes this morning.

I took a photo years ago of hubby fishing from a boat on a lake near Manitowish Waters at the only cabin we ever rented. Hope to make copies for the kids some day. Since he's not a real fisherman to speak of, it's a good memory for kids some day. I've learned to take even a simple pic because it may become a special memory for someone some day. Took a pic many years ago of the kids lined up in order on a couch and when I gave each child a copy for Christmas one year, they each have their copy in a prominent place in their home.

ms. Katie, My brother Dr. John DuLong has all the family pictures and every year at Christmas he frames a copy of some particular picture and gives it to everyone of the immediate family. Your kids are lucky that you do that. We all like the pictures from my brother.
