After the humidity we've been experiencing of late, a dip in the chilly Lake Superior waters off Misery Bay sure looks inviting and thanks to Skylar Baxter, we can at least enjoy a glimpse of some other folks doing just that. I've never quite figured out why they call it Misery Bay, though, since it seems the people are out enjoying this spot, without any sign of misery! The second photo may not be from the same area, but its one of those images that captures the wonder of nature. Here we have a dead fallen tree stripped of its bark. But look closely and you'll see there's still some life left, with a clump of grass sprouting. That's Mother Nature at her finest.

Don't forget to take a look at the silent auction page, a benefit for Still Waters Assisted Living Community. And if you live in the area, put the open house and end of the silent auction on your calendar -- August 13.

Wish I were UP there cooling off in my favorite lake!

What has happened to the bridge cam? It has not updated a picture for weeks. No new pictures of Great Sand Bay? Another swimmer's attraction on the Big Lake.

It's on the right side of the main picture. The caption is "Watch out for the Lake creatures . . ."

Sorry folks, it was an error on my part. One little quotation mark missing in the document I send to Dean for posting and the picture is then a "no-show". It was a nice shot and if you'd still like to take a look at it, you can check it out in Skylar's gallery, by clicking here: Sprouting Driftwood.

This is a favorite spot to take the kiddos for a swim because there are no rocks and the water is very shallow. If you're in the mood to dive for rocks,ko nort to Agate Beach.

Isn't there a proverb about stuff coming around three times? Anyhow, Skylar's Gallery: Highly recommended. Made a lovely rainy morning even better.
