GREAT PICTURES. HAPPY FORTH EVERYONE. OFF THE SUBJECT, I RECIEVED AN ALERT VIA EMAIL, THAT THE ACLU IS TRYING TO GET ALL THE CROSSES REMOVED FROM FEDERAL CEMETERIES. PLEASE DO WHAT YOU WHAT YOU CAN TO STOP THEM FROM THIS ACTION. PROTECT OUR HEROS' RESTING PLACES. CONTACT YOUR SENATORS.

Jim,
You might want to check this site before you post something as inflamatory as the false information about removing crosses from federal cemeteries. It debunks urban legends and is kept fairly current.

Boy, there is a lot of bum dope spread by enemies of the ACLU.
Since the point of the ACLU is to protect our liberties as
enshrined in the Bill of Rights, this seems like a particularly
appropriate day to honor them for what they do, don't you
think?

Who are the meddlers...the ACLU or those spreading false information?

By Paul H. Meier (Paul) on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 - 12:47 pm:

Taking a different tact on this subject of crosses in National Cemeteries, what about other religious symbols. The Star of David is used as a marker over Jewish graves, and no one seems to have a problem with that. How about the Cressent for Muslim soldiers who died for the U.S.? What about Native Americans who practice their old religion? Just recently, the family of a young man, who was blown away fighting for us in Iraq, requested that his religious symbol be placed on his marker. He was a Wican, and the Feds, in all Christian charity, denied placing the Pentangle on his grave. We stopped burning these people at the stake several hundred years ago. It seems if they are willing to die for us, we should be willing to recognize their religion in our National Cemeteries. Everyone should have that last honor. The ACLU is everyone's favorite whipping boy when they defend someone else's rights. Folks have a different view when it is their rights that need defending. We are a Nation where religious freedom is a right of all our citizens. We must not fall for the sinister mechanations of either the far right or the far left. As Richard says above, the story is bunk.

Richard, Paul, Charles, Erica, etal,
"Thanks", for helping to set others right, those that blindly send-on the propaganda they receive. Gives me something to do, checking validity of e-mail. Snopes is such a great site, if everyone would spend a few minutes to check-out the latest 'rave' on their e-mail. Happy 4th of July, all.

A great reply from West coast of Or. church pastor, concerning email rumors & myths. See attached.

Thanks for the link, Al - the links in the letter were most interesting. Truth or Fiction, for example - an amazing collection of ridiculous, entertaining or rather embarrassing (not all at once, of course) stories!

This is going to be an interesting site.

I'm glad to read that Cross-shaped headstones are not in danger of being removed, but, here's some food for thought about the ACLU. Roger Baldwin, a founder of the ACLU was a communist at the time, and was quoted as saying the ACLU's ultimate goal is communism. Although he did renounce communism after the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression treaty with Nazi Germany in 1939, it appears that the ACLU is sticking with Baldwin's original goal by its removal of religious liberty and displays through liberal activist judges in the U.S.'s judicial system.
