Not the most elaborate day here. What'sUP? Weather too hot?
Perhaps we should start a discussion to liven things up ...

We have one daughter, Michelle,(and a son-in-law), she's 26.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, July 20, 2006 - 09:32 am:

Today is my daughter's 26th birthday. She's
lucky enough to have a long weekend off so
that she can spend it camping in the UP
where she now makes her home. Our 22 year
old son is in Kuwait enroute to Iraq. Trite as it
may sound, it only seems like yesterday when
they were the age of Brita's little ones.

By the way, Mary Drew, my dad and I picked up
a blue star flag at the VFW in L'Anse and it's in
our family room window at camp.

My son has just returned from europe
where he was studing

his last article is up

http://www.mtu.edu/current/student_abroad/

read about his 40 hour 5 country trip home ;-)

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, July 20, 2006 - 03:42 pm:

Thanks Cotton and Bob. I will pass that
message on, Bob.

What an adventure your son had. I must tell
you, though, that kids in my class would give
anything to say that they had landed in the
capital of Nunavut. We just finished learning
the provinces, territories and capitals just
before the term ended in Toronto. I enjoyed
your son's writing style and his appreciation of
his time abroad as well as his return home.

I certainly enjoyed my time studying abroad lo
many moons ago. Unlike your son, I seem to
remember going through a couple of months
of "culture shock" upon my return. I bet it was
hard for my family to put up with some of my
Europeanized airs and opinions.

Whatever happened to "ItsmeYooper"? I loved the pictures they posted.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, July 20, 2006 - 10:33 pm:

I wondered about that too. I miss her
graphics.

By Cotton (Cotton) on Friday, July 21, 2006 - 12:32 am:

what is the reason to show a picture of a very obese man sitting on the edge of a picnic table?
Other than to show he is tilting the table up because of his weight at the other end of it.

By Cotton (Cotton) on Friday, July 21, 2006 - 12:37 am:

What is the reason to show an obese man sitting on the end of a picnic table? It must be to show he is tilting the table upwards because of his weight at the other end of the table. There is no caption under the picture with informationabout the picture.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Friday, July 21, 2006 - 12:41 am:

Cotton,
I'm not sure what the entire story behind this picture is, perhaps Charlie can add something more, but if you check back in the Archives for this week, the caption by this picture says: "Tom R. from downstate impresses the Pasty Cam with a demonstration of precision picnic table balancing..." Having the name of the person on the picnic table, I'm assuming means that he was also agreeable to it being used on the website. I'm sure there must have been what Paul Harvey always refers to as, "The rest of the story". :->

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, July 21, 2006 - 07:57 am:

Kosk, Happy Birthday to your daughter. And know we're still praying for your son in Iraq. Hope you're having fun in da UP.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, July 21, 2006 - 08:09 am:

good wishes are much appreciated.
