Eight years ago, Jonathan Hopper captured a trip downstate on the Pasty Cam. Here's a familiar sight near the eastern end of US-2, not far from the bridge. The caption posed the question: strange magnetic effects? ... or the mystery of human gullibility?

Woo Hoo! 9:00 PM and I'm the Early Bird. Just what exactly happened today? Some kind of 'denial of service' incident?

Some hacker exploited a former flaw in the software which powers Cam Notes. If you receive email copies of the postings, you were flooded last night with repeated spam attempts which caused "Authentica-tion Errors". Hopefully the corrections made today will foil the spammer and return Cam Note to its regular, friendly format.

anyway...back to what I tried to post at 6am ... those spammers are a real pain...

Back in the early 60s, we made a stop at the Mystery SPot when heading down to Detroit to visit my Uncle Fran..and cousins, Aunt, etc etc...
I'll never forget that place, especially that ball rolling up hill.
How'd they do that ???? LOL
it's a mystery, kiddies

The only mystery about that place is how they stay open??? ;-)

Well,I got a kick out of the Mystery Spot. There are other locations in the US where such places exist but I like the one in the UP.

This was one of the many spots that my dad
refused to stop at when I was a kid. Sea Shell
City in the LP was another. Once his car was
headed to the cottage, we were lucky to get
bathroom stops!

Now, when I'm going UP, I have tried to make
some stops-- the little farm that sells produce
near the Marathon station in Wolverine, the
Lutheran church with the maypole in Brevort,
the occasional cemetery, the Seney Wildlife
Sanctuary (?), the river where kids are always
jumping off the bridge. I've come to think that
the journey to a place is almost as special as
the destination.

Welcome Back Cam Notes!

Charlie, Thanks for fixing the spam problem. Hated to bother you with that, by bringing it to your attention...but thought the spammer was getting a little out of hand. I was hit with more than 500 of those emails by the end of yesterday. I was on John Dee's site last night...and it looks like his site was attacked by the same spammer/hacker too. Sigh.

charlie. I am working on my genealogy and have found out that lillian pearce is a great aunt of mine. I went back throught the archives here on pasty cam and found a posting about her. I wonder if this is the same lil that was married to george?
