The changing temperatures of the air and waters of Lake Superior make for all kinds of weather reactions. Michael Musiel once again catches the formation of clouds (as fog is actually a cloud that comes in contact with the ground). Here, the fog moves from Lake Superior into Eagle Harbor and will eventually engulf the land. What a great place to sit and watch the fog roll in and then back out again.

Beautiful morning here in Bootjack. The water is so calm and the ducks are swimming by. We have a eagle that lives near by and he just did his morning "fly" by for us retired mililtary folks. Awesome!!!! A wonderful sight as I'm drinking my coffee on the deck!!!!!!!

The second picture reminds me of a Japanese print. The scene is dreamy and sort of haunting.Lovely!

my son zack and i took a dip in the harbor on thursday last week. we had a wonderful time at the fort and drove to eagle harbor for a quick dip,his first time in the big waters of gitchee gummi.also went to the new hut,the people were hard at work so we stayed out of the way and had a pasty for supper in calumet.we'll probably be back again before the year is up,had to much fun to leave. but he has basketball camp starting 7-10. thanks pasty.com this forum is one of the best things the u.p. has going.

I was paddling my little kayak over by that pine tree in the first picture last Friday, planning to take some pictures of the lighthouse. Some seagulls decided I was too close to their nests, and I spent more time warding off dive-bombing gulls than taking pictures! After they were satisfied that they had chased me away, it was a beautiful paddle around the harbor.

Great shots! There are times when the fog slowly closes in and envelopes you and it starts to drizzle and it cools off and then gets cooler and then starts raining. Time to go home. Other times it moves in quickly, hovers for awhile and disappears. It always makes a good color show.
There were people swimming at Agate Beach recently! I made it up to my knees and it felt fine. One can always hope for a good swimming season.

Carry a compass when boating....in heavy fog you could wind up in the middle of lake Superior.Be safe!
