• Fourth of July What's UP

All across the Upper Peninsula, you'll find many a parade, fireworks display and celebration on this day. It's also a common sight to see Old Glory displayed proudly, like Bryant Varney shows us in front of his Marquette home. That's also quite a healthy crop of rhododendrons Bryant has on exhibit. A demonstration of patriotism is caught by Cathy Westcott, as these Copper Harbor School children are waving their flags, all decked out in red white and blue. Along with their teacher, they were actually participating in a Memorial Day celebration, but the shot seemed a perfect fit for today too. Finally, we leave you with a photo from Ken Scheibach, that should spark some contemplation of what our flag represents, as it billows out in the breeze, over calm waters...individual rights, liberty and freedom.

HAPPY FOURTH TO EVERYBODY! What BEAUTIFUL photos, especially the top one with the GORGEOUS rhododendrons! Today I am reminiscing back to my childhood days when my family and I spent this holiday time in South Range, Michigan at my dear aunt, uncle and cousins' home. We'd watch the Fourth of July parade in South Range, then supposedly watched the fireworks later. This is what the Fourth is to me, this wonderful childhood memory with all these loved ones in South Range, Michigan! I hope you all have a memorable Fourth today!

I'm sure everyone's having a great time at Uncle Bob and Aunt Carla's annual BBQ. Wish I could be there...maybe next year.

Happy 4th to everyone from Oklahoma. I have to share a note today being the 4th brings back memories of my family taking our summer trip to our cabin in Crystal Falls Michigan. Every 4th my sister and I and my parents would go to the little parade held in Alpha just outside of Crystal Falls there in the U.P. We always said for a small town they always put on a nice parade and after the parade my sister and I would always get a box of Cracker Jacks and have some ice cream. I always looked forward to the 4th festivities in Alpha and have very happy memories of many parades we attented till we were grown.

Happy 4th of July to everyone. God Bless America! Sure wish I could have been in Dollar Bay today for the annual festivities. Many happy memories.

What I ment by my note before was that the small picture that shows in the bottom right still had July 3rd's picture and would take you to July 3rd cam notes. I am not sure if that was clear the way I typed it?

Yea----we are finally back in Bootjack. Perfect summer so far. Loved the olde fashioned parade in Lake LInden Yesterday---lots of fun. Paradise.
