Is it possible I will get the early bird this late in the morning? Maybe it is my lucky day.

Good afternoon everyone :) Been busy painting. Now hubby is fixing up a hole in the wall, caused by the door knob going through the wall. Why is it, that when men fix something, they have to drag out every tool...electical tools, all the better for a 3" X 3" peice of drywall?
Hubby even took one of the closet doors that I had set up in the bedroom to paint...stuck some saw horses under it, and has now declared it his work bench. And he wants to know why I'm sitting here on the computer instead of painting in the bedroom? Heck, there's no room in there for me to move around to paint, with all those tools. I hear by declare this break time :)

sur5er, I have to paint one of the upstairs bedrooms, can't get started. Been munching on some of Joe Kutcheys Michigan strawberries, tart with just a hint of sweetness, kind of like Precious, one of my favorite childhood memories was picking strawberries out in Traprock valley with my Mom, sure do miss her and my youth, now she can look over the valley from the cementery there by Lake Linden. Been kind of homesick lately, must be time to take a trip UP and spend time by the falls behind Hubbell. Jimmie the fat white cat is in his window watching the chipmonks run amock. Precious is now getting ready to start telling me what I should be doing now instead of being on the computer. Tell hubby everyone needs downtime to get things in order, doesn't work here either.

Well, as you can tell, I still had no luck with
getting my dad a password, etc. with Pasty
Cam. I even tried writing to Mary, but that letter
never got sent either. Too bad. We did,
however, have a good time reading back
through past messages and checking out
pictures. Sigh. We even had a good name
picked out for him. I thought of Kosk's dad, but
the name we picked suits him better. Let's
hope it works one of these days.

Mary says: Kosk, look for an email from me with some information about getting your Dad set up for posting messages! :->

Mikie, I think the only way we are going to get downtime, is if we head to da UP :) With all that hubby has on his list of things for me to do, I have a feeling that when I head to Michigan in July, I really am going to be in need of a vacation :)
The only cure I know for homesickness: Take one vehicle and aim it north. Symptoms should lessen the closer you get to the Mighty Mac...and you will be completely cured, once you cross over the Mighty Mac :)
Mighty Mac attack: I used to have these all the time, where I would be driving in town and the next thing I knew I was on I-75 headed for the bridge. Once did a pasty run to da UP just for the heck of it. Left at sunrise and was back home before it was dark out.

Kosk, Hope you can get your dad hooked up with the Pasty Cam :) Will be great chatting with him.

HI KOSK'S DAD!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

Hey ILoveLucy2, You're back :) Where ya been? Did you skip out on us and head for da UP? If so, you forgot to pick up Mikie :)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 03:40 pm:

Sur5er, Where UP north is home? How on earth could you make a pasty run and make it back to Indiana the same day? I understand why you'd want to make that run, just not why you'd want to go back the same day. OOOOHHHH, maybe it's to see the Mighty Mac twice in one day, eh?

Kosk, Sure hope you get your dad hooked up. Would love to start chatting with him too. My dad would love this site but he doesn't have a computer and has no clue how this even works. He also can't type so that would cause a problem too. Did you get Mary's e-mail? Hope that helps you. She's good at what she does, that's for sure.

Hey Ilovelucy2, How on earth can you substitute a BLT for a pasty? That's awful! I love BLT's but in place of a pasty? I don't think so.

By WishingIWasInDaUP (Sur5er) on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 04:27 pm:

Deb, Home in Michigan is Monroe County. My high school buds and I will be staying at one friend's parents' cabin in Rose City on George Lake in July.
When I lived in Monroe County, I could make it to St.Ignace in about 4 hours. It got to the point that I could drive to the UP with my eyes closed. ROFL, from Indiana...and taking the route through Chicago and Wisconsin, it would probably take me 4 hours just to get through Chicago traffic.

Well, actually I have mowed the yard, went grocery shopping, and cleaned the house today. Now I'm fighting with the fire ants in my backyard. That is one problem I never had in the UP!!

DebS: When I lived Lake Linden and my parents still lived near Grayling, I used to get up early in the morning, drive to their place, help my father shovel the snow off the roofs on the buildings, then drive all the way back to LL, in one day!!

Thanks Charlie, frankly some of the esoteric banter lately is better suited for "private" communications, or a party-line call.

By P&G,TN (Gormfrog) on Sunday, June 11, 2006 - 05:32 pm:

Good luck Charlie, but you might have to set up a third "Chat/blog" forum...don't think "they" are listening.."Exchanges which take on the nature of a "chat" will also be removed, and we would welcome you to find a chat room on some other website".

Capt. Paul, You're a brave man but what a guy to do that for his parents. My dad used to drive all the way to Detroit and back in one day to get cars for my cousin who owned a car lot. Geez, I could never do that. I start falling asleep driving to the UP and that's worth driving to.

Guess I'm too early for the early bird!! Dang! Either I'm so early that the old picture is still there or I'm just a little late . Have to take a ride to Green Bay today to have a basal cell cancer taken care of on the tip of my nose. It's out patient surgery so will be back tomorrow after hubby's colonoscopy in Iron Mountain. Everything is at once. Birds are chirping, should be a nice day. Have a nice day everyone in Pastyland.

Cotton--

Drive safely. You've certainly organized the
day for an efficient use of time, etc.

......wonder if limiting the number of posts per day...per person...would solve the "problem".
