Don't forget to vote for your favorite photos. In recognition of Pasty Central's 10th anniversary, our annual Pasty Cam Calendar will include the best of the best photos -- and your votes will determine which photos we use.

Just send a link to your favorite(s) (no more than four, please) to 2007Calendar@pasty.com

More info on the Pasty Cam Calendar. The 2007 Pasty Cam Calendar will be a 10th anniversary edition. Once again, our members and visitors will decide which photos to include in the Pasty Cam calendar.

You can participate by voting on your all-time favorite photos from any year, that's eight years of Pasty Cam to choose from. All you need to do is find your favorites, cut and paste the link from your browser address bar, and send the links to 2007Calendar@pasty.com.

We will compile the results and include your choices in the new 2007 Pasty Cam Color Calendar.

The voting deadline is June 15.

You may want to start by browsing the Wallpaper of the Week (WOW) site, which will provide weekly highlights back to 2001.

You could also use the "this week in years past" links right on the Pasty Cam page.

If you follow our "cam notes", you find day-by-day links to photos from the last three years.

Have a great day.

Morning everybody. It's almost Friday. Start my golf lessons tonight. Tired of only making it go only a couple of feet. Maybe my hubby won't mind taking me if I can actually hit the ball. Have a great day!

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 07:14 am:

Mornin', good luck on the golf.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 07:17 am:

Morning everyone. First day of summer break. Yea!
Have lots of things planned. First off will be seeing son's new home this evening. It is being brought in today. (It's a moduler) Saturday, I go to Chicago with my brother and cousins to see the White Sox play. Cousins are Cleveland Indians fans, so it should be a fun day. But first, it's back to the dull stuff---buying groceries and cleaning the house.

By Sunrise Side MI (Ilovelucy2) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 07:47 am:

Good Morning all,
Thanks so much for the kind words about my sis-in-law. It really eases our sorrow.
Beautiful day here today. I cheated a little and bought morning glories already started and there has been one bloom a day for a few days. I put them in a large pot and used a tomato cage to support them. Just an experiment but its working.:)
Everyone have a beautiful day and a great weekend, "Sad here on the Sunrise side"

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 09:54 am:

Charlotte, I try to make everything I do an adventure, so grocery shopping is fun for me. I get to see all of the people buying their groceries and the one cashier actually has my drivers license number memorized. But cleaning the house is a bore. On the Pasty Cam someone said the birds are cheaping,I woke this morning to the roofers chirping, pounding, and generally being noisy. I asked them to use rubber hammers but they are unwilling to fill my request. They are very fussy about their work, each nail has to beat pounded five times while I think that four should be enough. later today they get to use their nail guns, so I will hear the air compressor all day. Oh well better to be inconvienced for a week then to have water leaking on my head while I am in my office. Bright and sunny, sky is that clean blue that happens after a rain storm, down here in Berkley.

I thought everything done in Detroit was an adventure?? ;-)

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 11:55 am:

Dwoodbeck: My computer will not let me send a msg directly to outlook express. I don't know how to cut and paste anyway. And there are far too many incredible pictures to be able to choose!

I'd like to vote for nature/wilderness pictures. Everyone should be able to see the incredible beauty of the area. I also recommend lighter, brighter pictures. I remember some of the pictures in Dan Urbanski's calendar not doing him justice since they printed dark.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 11:56 am:

Hey, now Ecglogite! Have you ever been in the Motown area!?

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 12:18 pm:

Many times Maija; I still have family that live in Mikie's backyard, literally! I was just wondering why Mikie would want to try to makes things more adventurous?? But I suppose a little adventure every now and then keeps us all young at heart, right?!?! Lol, if that's the case, living in Houston should make me regress :P

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 01:38 pm:

In Berkley there is very little crime, but I have to admit I seldom stray into Detroit. One thing about Detroit and this area we don't have to worry about huricanes or oppressive heat. When I was hup two threeing in Texas I begged to be sent somewhere cold. We may have a little more crime then in Texas, but we don't boil all the time. My nephew left here to practice law in Houston, so you must have your share of crime since he has this huge house there. I know I shouldn't admit to having a lawyer in the family, but he really is nice. He married into a wealthy Texas family. He is a nephew by marriage so their isn't as much of a stigma attached.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 02:28 pm:

Houston has a lot of crime these days, especially after all the gangs of New Orleans moved here. I don't know the numbers, but I would guess Houston has more crime than Detroit. There have been so many murders here this year already it's unreal; much worse than normal. We don't come into Houston at all at night, and very seldom during the weekends. I have to come through downtown to get to work, but I leave at 3 in the afternoon so I don't see any of the nasty stuff. We live about 40 miles west of town where it's relatively quiet. I know Berkley has very little crime. When I visit my Uncle and we sit on the front deck we seldom hear a siren.

And don't even talk about the heat in Houston!! We've already broken our record for the day at 1:00pm with 93, with the humidity, blah!! As Dr. Nat said yesterday, "Any day is a good day to flee Houston", especially this time of year......

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 03:22 pm:

Coming UP tomorrow! We'll reach Aura about dinnertime. Gas is $2.89. It was $2.99 when we came up for our color tour late last Sept. & early October. Cheap! It was $2.24 when we came up last June. It just started raining here, followed by a crack of lightening. Probably just a quick shower. We're eating our way through the alphabet for the second time. It's "U Week", so our only choice is U.S. Family Restaurant.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 03:45 pm:

Actually it's pouring now and there are severe thunderstorm warnings!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 04:26 pm:

Marsha where is Aura?

By tom ghering (Tomgheringtcmi) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 04:28 pm:

I spent some of my army time in Camp Wolters Texas..(just out of Mineral Wells)......knee deep in red mud with dust blowing in your face.

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 04:48 pm:

I feel really sorry for my friends who have to stay in Houston all summer while Rich goes to Anderson med center. Who would ever go there voluntarily?

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 05:27 pm:

I ask myself that question everyday Maija....... ;-)

By Happy to be in the U.P. (Lahelo) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 05:32 pm:

Mikie I believe Aura is north of L'Anse and west of Marquette quite aways. They have the Aura Jamboree coming up here pretty quick. That is a great place to listen to all kinds of music.
A great time for everyone, good foot stomping music and of course great food and even pasties!

By Erica - Florida Keys (Erica) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 07:08 pm:

I can remember some very hot spring and summer days in Michigan.....in Berkley(lived on Oakshire) and in Livonia.I also remember some wonderful summer days in Traverse City(my birth place). Here in the Keys the weather is much better than it is in Miami,we usually have a nice breeze and the gulf stream moderates the temperatures...but we do have hurricanes and they give us the chance to go to the UP.All in all,I love the Keys and, while you can take the lady out of Michigan you can't take Michigan out of the lady.

By Marsha, Genesee/Aura (Marsha) on Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 08:46 pm:

Mikie: Lahelo is right; Aura is north of L'anse on the Abbaye Peninsula. We are on the eastern shore of Keweenaw Bay and look westward out our living room window to the Keweenaw Peninsula. We can usually see the Portage and Jacobsville lighthouses across the Bay. The cool thing is we enjoy both sunrise and sunset out that window, because when the sun comes up it reflects on the cliffs across the bay turning them a blinding reddish color! However, I prefer to let my husband enjoy the sunrise and I'm happy with the sunsets!

By dlp (Babyseal) on Friday, June 9, 2006 - 12:56 pm:

Erica, It is Friday! TGIF! The sun is shining, the Portage canal is sparkling in the sunshine.
It is a good day to be here in the Keweenaw.
