Even though this is actually a morning shot, snapped by John Sturos, it reminds me of the end of the day, so I thought it would be quite appropriate for ending the week and heading into the weekend. Guess it's those boots sitting there and what I'm assuming are piles of grass that have been raked up, ready for hauling away, that give me the feeling of a day of work being complete and the time to shed the trappings and just relax. Then again, it might give you the feeling that those boots are waiting for you to jump in and finish up that yard work out there, waiting in the early morning haze. Whatever this photo evokes in your thoughts and imagination, it surely is one of quietude, either before or after the busyness of the day!

What a beautiful calm, peaceful and serene awakening. I just love this picture, it is my desktop picture of the day.
Thank you John for the beautiful picture.

Thanks for the reminder! Time to buy some hay! ;o> Have a great weekend all!

What a nice picture. It's a relaxing shot. And like you, Mary, it looks like the day is over to me, boots sitting there and somebody relaxing in a swing with a glass of lemonade of something. You do have a way with words.

Don't let my sister-in-law see those boots sitting there. She'd have holes cut in them, fill them with dirt and plant Hens-and chicks before you could wiggle your toes into socks! I love early mornings, just can't seem to get busy with the day - only want to sit there and sip coffee and watch the world awake. Lovely picture. Thanks for sharing.

We do that also...mow a section of our meadow, rake it, and then feed it to our horses. Farm fresh, home grown hay, our horses are in hog heaven when it is served!

Lovely shot! Makes you feel like taking a big breath to enjoy the morning air and the peacefulness at the beginning of the day.

If only you could have that peace everywhere.

I, too, put it as my background. So peaceful. Just wish I was sitting on the step drinking some coffee.

Had breakfast on the front porch. The cold cereal could be ambrosia in the glorious setting. The wonders of the Lord are in the simplest forms found in our day. Top o' the morning my friends.

If everyone in the world could look at this photo at the same time, would the simultaneous individual change in consciousness put an end to warmongering? Who said pasty.net can't change the world? I can dream. Very peaceful photograph.

Let me add a good morning from I-75 just south of the Mackinaw Bridge. I am logged on with a smart phone, catching up with the pictures and comments after turning over the daily webmaster duties to Dean Woodbeck this week. For those who are new to the Pasty Cam, this feature is in its ninth year, having started as a father and son project in the late 90's. and joined by an army of U.P. photographers and writers over the years. This week is the first time I have not started my day with all the technical stuff which makes it possible. It's so pleasant just to tune in and experience 'back home' along with all the other visitors.

Technology is amazing. By the way, the 'pasty girl' for so many years - our daughter Becky - is driving as I type this. She and Edie both send their regards, and I send special thanks to Mary and Dean for making this downstate Father's Day weekend possible.

Still looks a little foggy over Sharon's deck. Does it usually get a little hazy just before sunrise--like with the boot picture. Almost thought I saw a deer in the background!!

Happy Father Day, Charlie, and to all of the
other fathers out there, including mine!
Mine should be hot-footing it to the Up next
week. Two more weeks for me.
