Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife, Karen. Even though I am the one with the U.P. roots, she is the one that turned me on to pasty cam years ago. It is great that we both enjoy the U.P. along with our three children (one at Tech). Maybe sometime we will retire there.

Have a safe weekend everybody. No drinking and driving, please!!!! See ya when we get back!

Cotton,You missed out on the early bird by being too early.I was up also,seems someone I live with went to the local establisment and imbibed a little too much and at Midnight I had to go and get her. Then this morning I had to take her to her car so she can go to work. Ken my son in law and I went to McDonalds for breakfast,in a while we will be leaving for Port Huron to fight the Brits,and to keep peace in the neighborhood. I hate being up this early.

This is the weekend that I am supposed to go to Port Huron, Kenny was supposed to drive me there. Guess who he forgot. My daughter said he left about an hour ago without me. Looks like I drive alone.

Today we begin nine days of prayer for the Holy Spirit, as the apostles
did in the upper room before the first Pentecost. We need this time to
prepare the way for the Spirit. Possibly you're afraid of receiving the
Spirit, but "the Spirit God has given us is no cowardly spirit, but rather
One that makes us strong, loving, and wise" (2 Tm 1:7). Jesus commands:
"Do not be afraid. Go on speaking and do not be silenced, for I am with
you" (Acts 18:9-10).

When I was sailing on the Lakes, the big Mac Bridge looked beautimous from way out and better as we'd get closer!

Dan....a week from last Wednesday I was in Rome and was about 10 feet from Pope Benedict....it was a wonderful experience...we were 43 Pilgrims from all over the UP led by Fr Ben Paris from St Louis the King Parish in Marquette....it refreshed my faith in Christianity especially when standing in the catacombs (sp) where early Christians had to worship.....went to the home of St Francis in Assisi and St Cathrine.......Fr Paris did a wonderful job and plans a trip to Spain and Portugal next year ...we did lots of "fun" stuff too......
