Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Saturday, May 20, 2006 - 08:33 am:

In his third appearance in less than 3 months, Alex Voelker was sporting his Red Wings outfit on this day in 1998. The Wings sure have had their ups and downs during the Pasty Cam years, but they've left a few marks on the Stanley Cup along the way. (Unfortunately, not this year.)

Our intrepid cyclist Jeff Valley really lucked out with the weather this week, as he circled the Keweenaw Peninsula inviting people far and wide to come to the Still Waters Benefit Concert at Calumet Theatre this evening. The music and fun starts at 7 pm, and I hear that Jeff should arrive back in Calumet about that time. When he left Still Waters on Wednesday morning - just 4 blocks away - it was raining, as he headed in the opposite direction. The skys quickly cleared, as he rode 'around the world' (of the Keweenaw, that is), and what a beautiful week it has been.

Good Morning. Whats the deal here? The one time I wake up early enough to post a message there's nobody here. This is Mr. Deb, shes still konked from the McGraw/Hill concert last night. She said she had a great time. Too much excitement for me, I'd prefer a nice soothing Skynyrd show. Talk later after the coffee starts working. Happy Saturday everyone!

I would love to see either/or concerts. They are all great Mr. Deb. Let her get some much needed sleep from the concert she went to last nite!! I hope she had a great time.

well, instead of the great air in the UP, we're in FLORIDA....95 degrees today, but at least the humidity is low this time of year.
One of my sons lives here, so its a great time, but it would be great to be in the UP as well....
maybe next year

Mr. Deb,
Make sure to have Deb fill us in on the concert. We are all waiting to hear how much fun she had.

It is a beautiful day here again. The leaves are opening up and everything is finally green again. The C.C. air smells so good.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, May 20, 2006 - 10:37 am:

Hey guys, the concert was GREAT!!! My ears are still plugged though. Faith and Tim opened together with one of their beautiful songs and then he disappeared and it was just her for over an hour. She was good, but we were waiting for the guy in the tight blue jeans and shirt with the signature black hat. He did NOT disappoint. When she was finished, they again came up together for a song and then she disappeared. He was awesome! I would go to see him again any time. When he sang "Live Like You Were Dying", the whole crowd went crazy. And when he was finished, the two of them came back again for about 4 songs together. They're wonderful together, both singing and as a couple. Nobody wanted it to end. It was nearly 3 full hours of them. And they're doing it again tonight because the first show sold out so fast. Needless to say, I'm tired this morning, but can never sleep much past 8 no matter what.

It's going to be a decent day here today I think. Chance of showers off and on all day but what else is new? Hopefully it'll be nice for the most part so I can get my flowers planted.

Happy Saturday everyone and have a great weekend.

Usetobeayooper, glad you had such a great time at the concert. I remember when I saw Garth in concert. You can really get pumped from the great ones. I would love to see Tim and Faith but they haven't been close to me.

Looks like it will be a beautiful day here. Calling for rain overnite and cooler tomorrow. So I must enjoy today.

An article about the Edmund Fitzgerald with a nice photo of the ship was posted yesterday on LiveScience.com. If interested, here's the link: http://www.livescience.com/history/060519_edmund.html
