What a potpourri from the U.P. the Pasty Cam has become over the years! Following the links "This week in years past" on the main page takes you to every extreme of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, from east to west and north to south. Eight years ago I stood on Swedetown Hill enjoying the view toward the Osceola shaft house, and I believe the Huron Mountains in the distance. Last night my wife and I visited one of those extremes, namely Ironwood, to attend the Junior ROTC awards, where Edie presented Christa Baron with a medal of recognition from the Daughters of the American Revolution. At the end of the ceremony Christa was also named Commander of the group for the coming year.

Edie and Christa
As you make your plans to visit the U.P. this summer, be sure to include a stop in Calumet on July 1st for PastyFest, which will include a parade, pasty bake-off competition, music, and games for the kids. You'll meet other pasty lovers from all over the country (and maybe some from other countries.)

Good morning!
Yooper I love the graphic. Wish I was enjoying a hammock. I put in a request for one for Mother's Day/My birthday! Then I will put it in my backyard (which happens to be in the #10 summer destination locale) to enjoy the birds singing.
Aw, the good things in life.................

Yooper--

So glad to see one of your graphics again.
Just a couple of hours ago, while out walking
the dog, I got to thinking about how we hadn't
seen one of your graphics on Pasty Cam for
awhile. I was going to place a post entitled,
"Where's Yooper?" Now we know.

By Smfwixom (Trollperson) on Thursday, May 4, 2006 - 08:36 am:

#10 is definitely my only choice for a summer destination!

Japei, It woud be wonderful to see those different places. Have a great day!

Yooper, I've missed your graphics. They're always so cool. Makes you want to take a nap, doesn't it?

By YooperGal (Daryl) on Thursday, May 4, 2006 - 02:01 pm:

Saturday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m: An open house for two local artist’s new studios, Andrea Baldridge’s “Distant Drum Wearable Art Gallery/Studio” and Randy Wakeham’s “Algoma Art and Frame”. They are located at Finlandia’s Portage Campus, the old Portage Hospital Bldg in Hancock. Awesome prizes and refreshments! Finlandia student art work on sale as well.
