I received this email this morning and feel it
is important.
---------------------------------------------
Attention Bicyclists, Walkers, Runners, etc.(non-motorized user groups)
-
Tomorrow night Tuesday (April 18th) at 6:30pm the DNR would like your
attendance and input regarding non-motorized use along the M-26
cooridor from the Portage Lake Lift Bridge to Lake Linden. The
discussion will involve whether paved highway shoulders or a
resurfaced
rail trail along that route is the preferred option for that
cooridor.
This feedback is VERY important in determining what is in the best
interest of the non-motorized user groups within our communties. The
DNR and MDOT will be using this input to examine what the course of
action should be for that route. Even if you've already sent a
letter
of support to MDOT for the paved shoulder project, its important to
have
additional feedback to the paved rail cooridor option.
Sorry for the short notice but please consider attending the meeting
to
find out more about and show your support for non-motorized
improvements
along M-26.
The meeting will be held in the Begg Conference Center at the Hockey
Educational Center attached to the SDC at MTU beginning at 6:30pm.
Please forward this information to any interested parties.

When Gary and I were kids in LLHHS....and driving clunkers..('36 Buick convertible) ....if we had a problem we would ask Ernie and he always managed to have a solution that didn't cost anything and kept us on the road....he is a special, kind man....God Bless Ernie..

Morning All.
-Bobg- Is there a way or someone to contact to e-mail our support of these plans?
Just noticed that the Lift Bridge has been raised allowing boat traffic on the channel. Sure sign of spring in the 'CC'. Enjoy the day everyone.
