Good ol' Jack Foster. Early in the life of the Pasty Cam Jack recognized that we were on to something, with a picture-a-day feature originating in the Copper Country, a forum for feedback from folks who have a connection to this historic region. And Jack was a historian. I first met him in Eagle River, in the early '90's the day the wooden bridge was dedicated. He was here along with state officials, and came in his mining apparel, complete with headlamp and lunch pail. Years later he called me up at Still Waters, offering a personal tour of some of the sites he suggested for Pasty Cam shots. It was a tour I'll never forget.
Many of those shots eventually appeared on these pages, and laid the foundation for another feature which has become a part of these archives known as Shoebox Memories, which I have the pleasure of hosting every Sunday. And reams of historic content from folks like Kevin Musser (copperrange.org), George Hite (eagleharborweb.net), and Chuck Voelker (Copper Country Reflections) have carried on the tradition of remembering our roots in the land of Pasty Central.
Historians continue to appear on these pages, many with inspiring volumes in the Guest Gallery. And occasionally we still have officials from the state drop by, too.
