Donna MacIntosh got sprung from her apartment and was out and about with her good friend, Cindy (HI LOU!), recently. Those two always manage to find something interesting to see, without going all that far from home. We start today with a shot of the snow blowing on Mont Ripley from the snow-making machines. We do have a good base on the ground, but I suppose when the temps warm up in the low 30’s, they need to keep that base going with fresh stuff from the machines.

Driving along, the sun peeked out from the clouds and Donna quickly captured that brightness before it disappeared again. We haven’t been getting a lot of sunshine lately.

Next we get a glimpse of the Mother & Child Sculpture in the snow. It’s part of the Quincy Dry House Historical display which you can read about here if you need a refresher: Pasty Cam – Oct. 2, 2024

The remaining photos give off a sugar-coating effect that the snow sometimes creates on the trees. It makes the landscape quite magical, like an enchanted forest scene.

Now we join In the Keweenaw at Mont Ripley for a first ski of the season. They’re officially open now, so if you’re a skier, get over there and “shred the gnar”. Did that sound like I’m a skier? Hah, no way would you catch me gliding down a steep hill on skis. I’ll just enjoy watching this guy, he looks like he knows what he’s doing.

Nice pictures, Donna. I love
watching the snow machine at Mont
Ripley. That's just so cool. My
favorite one is the 2nd one. Wow!

Donna, Beautiful pics all of them! The second and
the fourth are my favorite.

Great video, graceful and so well done. I'd like to
try and make that video...

UC & steep Mont Ripley + Gravity = Avalanche,
resulting in Ice Ball Blockage in the Canal!! :-)

I'm with you U.C., put me on skis and that's just
asking for trouble....and that would be prior to
MS. lol...I never tried that...heck, when I skated
as a kid...I was the Zamboni.....lol.

Thank you all~
