Deb and Ron Simons had a fun adventure with her son and grandkids this past week while they were here for a visit. After a drive on US-41, one of Deb’s favorite drives, they made their way to Mt. Bohemia, near Lac La Belle for a ski lift ride to the top. She said the only disappointment was that it was so hazy on the lake, but otherwise they had a great time. One mishap on the adventure though, her son dropped his glasses while on the ski lift, so once they got back to the bottom, he had to walk part way up again to find them. Thankfully he was successful in his quest. I think my favorite shot is the one of her grandkids looking back at her...Hi Grandma! I can just hear Deb shouting for them to look back for a picture and even though they’re grown kids, they complied and no rolling of eyes even... I love that! Making memories together. It doesn’t get much better than that!

But if you have the chance, come
in the fall. The view is much more
spectacular. And it was
disappointing that the lake was so
very hazy, but everybody still had
fun. And Mary was right, the kids
don't like having their pictures
taken, but when i called out to
them, they did accommodate me.
They didn't have to turn around,
but being the great kids that they
are, they did. And I keep calling
them kids when they're in their
20's, lol. But they'll always be
kids to me. I do recommend this if
you're looking for something
different to do. And on a clear
day, the view is breathtaking.

Ah Deb..how wonderful for you all! I bet that view

Awesome vid. I've not been there, but gotta try
that whitefish. WAY back when my nephew got
married, the Peterson's son was my nephew's buddy.
He brought smoked fish to the reception...that was
gone immediately...it was awesome!!

Nice video that has now made me hungry
for fish and chips sprinkled with red wine
vinegar. A Scottish dish that I grew up on.

First- Deb, excellent pics, we have been meaning
to do the chairlift site seeing for a while. How
were the black flies & mosquitos? Are you at their
mercy just sitting there? lol

Second, This piece on Peterson's and Four Son's is
very modest!! Let me explain or add to their
greatness!! I love sea food and fresh fish and I
have never had a better piece of whitefish, baked,
broiled, fried you can name it after dining at
Four Son's. I'm not joking, the freshness and
their expertise of preparing and seasoning and
ultimately cooking of the fish, no matter how you
prefer it, is the best I've ever had!! Along with
the dips, taco's everything they have to offer! We
can go anywhere else for dinner, and Vic will ask
me how my fish was? and I'd say, "It's not Four
Son's"!! Basically, "If you ain't first, you're
last" lol

Deb, Vic just walked into my office and I showed
her your pics of course, she is very envious! It's
Definity on our list.

Lastly, this Summer and basically all of 2024 has
sucked for me Healthwise. We did get out once
camping locally for a week, but that's about it.
My leg is healed, but I'm dealing with foot ulcers
caused by a month's worth of leg wraps and them
irritating my left foot. We were scheduled to
leave for Mackinaw City yesterday for our longest
camping trip away from home and so Vic can do her
bridge walk on LD. I'm not in well enough shape to
go that far away in case I need my doc's. Hoping
to leave this Friday if everything has improved.

I know I shouldn't be complaining, considering
everything... but I'm just frustrated with all of
this crap! Thanks for letting me vent and putting
up with my shyt!! :=)

Hey, I apologize for my frustration and language, I
have plenty to be grateful for, I just miss the Yoop
and was hoping to see and visit with you all this
Summer. I hope you all will accept my apology.

Uncle Chuck, go ahead and vent. When your body fails
you such that you can't do what you want it is
frustrating.

I'm going to be near Mackinaw City for the last week
in August, starting this weekend. I'll be my
vacation home outside of Cheboygan. I did the
bridgewalk last year but i think I'll skip it this
year.

Chuck, you do not need to
apologize. We're all here to
listen, and when one of us is
suffering with something, I think
we all feel it. And you get extra
people praying for you. I'm really
sorry that you're dealing with
another health issue. It has to be
getting so old. I hope this gets
resolved quickly so you can get
more camping in before summer
ends.

Ok, there were no bugs. It was,
however, very hot up there. And I
know you won't be disappointed if
you make it to the top, especially
if it's not a hazy day.

We've been meaning to go to
Peterson's. We'll have to be sure
to get there.
