Fritz and his people...Jeff & Chris Dennis are diehard kayakers. Back in November when I shared their kayaking adventure, I asked if they were going to try for a paddle in December. Jeff replied that they weren’t quitting yet, but with the shorter daylight hours it would be a challenge. As you can see by today’s photos, the Dennis trio got out there last week to complete the December challenge. I asked Jeff about the second photo, as Fritz looked a little scared. He said that he had a little disagreement with Fritz about where he was allowed to stand in the kayak. With the water and air so cold, Jeff didn’t want him going in the water on purpose or accidentally. Fritz kept insisting on standing out on the bow and Jeff kept putting him back in the boat with him. He tried once more to go out on the slippery bow and Jeff told him to sit down or he was going to blow his whistle, which is attached to his life jacket. He said he didn’t even touch the whistle, but Fritz sat nicely for the rest of the paddle. He added that Fritz hates whistles. So that look of fear was that he was going to blow that whistle like Jeff said he would. Fritz was like a little kid, just testing the waters, so to speak. Anyway, being a kayaker myself, I’m just tickled pink that they got out there in December to paddle. It’s not too many years you can do that. Now I’m wondering if they’ll make it in the water for a January paddle.
Jeff also shares a short video in which you can see the Mendota Lighthouse and the irons out to Bete Grise. You can also see that sassy Fritz on the bow like he’s not supposed to be doing. I suppose he figured Jeff was busy with the camera and he wouldn’t notice. Sneaky…

That first photo of Fritz looks like he might be thinking, "Daddy, please don't make me go swimming today!" Good thing there weren't any ducks or geese to tempt him into that frigid H20.

Holy wha....amazing..just amazing....and it's gross to not have snow for Christmas. JMHO.
The dude who made the video below, lives in Canada. He bought this property and is fixing it up for critters. The video is linked to here below and it tells the story of the first year on the homestead in the forest. It's just over an hour, but it is truly spectacular. If you have the time, click on the link and give it a watch... Year One on my Wildlife Homestead

Looks like Fritz could use a Schlitz if it’s okay with his therapy human. Nice set as usual, Jeff and Fritz.

First- I agree with the comments above from Mary and all my Pasty friends.
Second- Today's pictures and video really brought a smile to my face. Jeff & Chris & Fritz are always a welcome site and being a dog lover myself... I ask you all... Is there another dog as cute as FRITZ!! Me thinks not!! :=)) Jeff & Chris, you're brave to be out there in those bone chillin waters!! I'd have a hard time getting my fat butt into a kayak let alone in those Ice Cubes!! lol How do you manage to get into one without getting wet at least a little bit?? serious question.. Also, I have so many great memories of the Mendota channel & Irons, like water skiing from Lac La Belle all the way thru to the big lake, yes I know you're not supposed to, but going wide open actually produces a smaller wake, lol, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol
Lastly, Alex my friend, "I'm feeling Alright"-DM, I haven't heard the word Schlitz in so many years and it was a staple back in my days in Marquette! Something like, If I can remember... "When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer, real gusto in a great light can-SCHLITZ!!!" (but you couldn't hear me singing the jingle, oh well)lol
