Most mornings here in the Keweenaw dawn like any other day, but some mornings stand out by themselves for spectacular beauty. We have two of the latter here today. The first one was captured from the Michigan Tech College Avenue View Webcam by Del Rajala, who titled it Christmas Card Morning. With the snow covering College Avenue and the street lights adding a glow to the scene, it truly is a Christmas Card scene.
The second photo comes to us from Chad Johnson, who stopped on his way to work Friday morning when he saw the sunrise over Quincy Dredge Number Two near Mason. WOW... I know that can be an overused word to describe many things, but for this scene it is perfect, because I was literally speechless when I saw this photo and that was the word that came to mind. I liked the comment one of Chad’s friends made when he described the scene as, “Beauty and the Beast”, since the Dredge is a historic remnant of the C&H Mining days that some folks think is an eyesore, while others think it’s part of the history of the area. Either way, that’s one spectacular sunrise.
Visit Keweenaw asks us today...“Here in the Keweenaw, we are ready for winter. The question is, ‘Are you?’”

Wow can not be overused. I can't tell you
how many times I've commented with a "Wow.
Just WOW!". That is one of those pictures.
It's so beautiful! I just love the first one
also.
Cute little video. But are we ever truly
ready? (Insert winky face here because I
don't know how to.)

Gorgeous...that pic does look like a Christmas
Card, and the sunrise is spectacular!
That was way too quick and easy to get ready for
winter!
