Sierra McLeod Bishop and a group of lady friends recently spent some time hiking the trails at Isle Royale’s Windigo end. She said they hiked each day, but only two with their full gear and they spent three other days at Windigo as a home base taking day hikes from there. They also rented canoes/kayaks one day and explored from the water. At Windigo, the moose came into the creek there several times a day, which Sierra said was fun to watch. Who needs TV when you have moose, fox and the Ranger III to entertain you. Along with some great discussions and lots of laughs, Sierra said it was good for the soul.
Check out the visitor they had with their morning coffee on one of the days. If you have your volume UP high enough, you’ll even hear the water sloshing as he walks along.
