Bob Gilreath and his wife Liz were recently driving through L’Anse and snapped a few photos in the area. The first shot is a familiar site through your windshield when the trains coming from Koppers (formerly Celotex) cross the tracks on US41. With the train gone by, then, Bob made his way to catch a picture of the train coming up the hill from L’Anse, at the Power Dam Road. So of course since they were already there, they made a quick detour to the Power Dam Falls to see how they were running. Looks like the falls were flowing pretty good still. That’s my kind of road trip...stopping along the way to check out places you’ve either never been to or haven’t been for a while.
Douglas Feltman shares a timelapse of the Powerhouse Falls, so we can get an idea of the flowage. Interesting building in the final shot of the video.

Great pictures and yes, Mary, that's what
we do all the time. So very many places to
stop to see that it takes a very long time
to see everything in. Looks like Bob and
Liz had a great day exploring. Love the
Falls River and the waterfalls there.
Thanks for sharing!
