I never tire of seeing what photos Beth Jukuri shares from her rural mail route. Sometimes it’s scenery, other times it’s a snowy road, today it’s the faces she sees along the road. Unusual faces those first two, Scottish Highland Cattle, I think. I told Beth that this breed is known for being hard to keep fenced in. She responded, saying that was funny, because she’s had to go and tell the owners a few times, that their cows are on the road.

The next faces are a couple sheep and a goat, who all look like they are heading to the road now, too. They must be learning those long-haired cow’s tricks. Then the next face has a long beak, a woodpecker enjoying the suet that’s been put out for her. I’m not certain if that’s a Hairy or a Downy Woodpecker, hard to tell with not much else to judge the size of the feathered friend.

And last, but not least, a field of resting horses. They kind of look like they’ve turned their backs on Beth and seem to be enjoying the sunshine that day. Obviously, they weren’t bothered by Beth’s stop to snap a photo of them relaxing in the rays.

Tour Da Yoop uploaded a video adventure of a drive through fall to the shores of Lake Superior and Freda, MI, an old mining town with a few mining reminders still in place.

Oh...I just wanna cuddle one of them [sic] cows!!

As a former part-time "farmhand" on my Granddad's dairy farm during summer vacations, I gotta say that about the last thing on Earth that I'd ever care to "cuddle with" would be a cow!

(Maybe that comes in part from slopping out the barn gutters with a shovel and wheelbarrow in the days before the automated gutter cleaners were installed! 🐮)
