I’m not quite sure where in the Keweenaw, Dawn Gunnari was when she snapped these serene scenes. They could be anywhere UP North. For certain it was a day with no wind and snow in the air, as the water is as still as can be in the first two shots and reflecting everything within sight of the river’s edge. Then in the third one, the water is just freezing over and there’s a light dusting of snow on the ice, too. Those three pics are just what the doctor ordered to de-stress and relax.
In our short video clip today, we take a look at the Otter River here in the Upper Peninsula. It looks snowy and slippery on the banks of the river, so watch your step!
P.S. Each year Pasty Central supports the Keweenaw County Sheriff in his Toys for Kids effort, in the least populated (and often forgotten) county of Michigan. As in years past, again we invite you to join us.

The snowy frosty river pictures are beautiful.
Saw a video today about Jasper Knob, Ishpeming. Capt Paul or Dr. Nat, could you explain what Jasper is? Have you been to this area? Walking in it looks like it is around the caving grounds in Ishpeming. They said there is ore embedded with the Jasper - is it too hard to separate it to mine?
