This past Sunday, Melanie Hakala Rossi and a friend took a hike to check out the Hungarian Falls after the snowfall we had. Melanie told me that it was a steep hike, as they went up from Tamarack, not the usual trail where the snowmobile trail is. But they had good winter boots on with grips, so they made it with no problems. The falls look so pretty with the white hanging on the trees and rocks. Her second photo shows how cold it was, too, as the water had frozen and suspended some oak leaves in the ice.

Our video today isn’t snowy, but rainy instead. Some of the scenes remind me of the weather this past weekend, though, with the fog and dreary skies. Enjoy a different weather effect on the Keweenaw.

The news...bewildering of late.

We suppose folks needs to be nourished with the blood of anger time to time.

Nice pix and a gloomy video...the music had me Chopin onions.

I loved the gloom but it has been one strange Autumn. Here in Northern Illinois we've already had 10 inches of snow, it's supposed to be 10 degrees this coming Tuesday and the leaves on my oak tree haven't started falling off yet. They haven't even started turning from green.

I just saw your health notice. Hang in there with your up coming heart surgery. I had open heart bypass 16 years ago and I'm still doing great. You'll do just fine.

Love the pictures. It's gutsy to hike up there
in the winter. Good for them and lucky for us
that they do. Without them we wouldn't get to
see the beauty that they bring us.
