Beth Jukuri and the WIND (Women in New Directions) group are ladies that get together periodically to go out and challenge themselves with new adventures. They empower women thru art, nature, and movement to overcome life challenges and embrace their own unique spirit! Their latest adventure was a visit to the Lake Superior shoreline for some fun building rock towers, swimming and watching the sun go down. The challenging part was swimming in Lake Superior, which is usually not very warm. The towers they built were quite neat and once the sun started going down, they had a nice glow about them. Good job, ladies!
Anyone who has been to Lake Superior’s shoreline around the Keweenaw, knows there are a large variety of rocks for picking and identifying. Today’s video is a “Name That Rock” game, Lake Superior Edition, only this is the second take of it, with the answers supplied. Interesting to know the names of some of the rocks to be found.

The video "Name That Rock - Lake Superior Edition":
Some of those rocks were very Gneiss!
I was hoping to see some Yooperlites see (click →) Wikipedia: Syenite
in that video.
Quote:Syenite clasts containing fluorescent sodalite were found on a beach in Michigan in 2017, their discoverer Erik Rintamaki finding that they glowed under ultraviolet light and naming them "Yooperlite". Rintamaki's discovery was made public and verified in May 2018.
Yooperlites they're like Coprolites, except they were left behind by early Yoopers!
