We start out our Valentine’s Day look-back into the archives today in 2003, with Aimee Rathbun. She was at Great Sand Bay on what looks like it may have been a windy day, as there are drifts forming off the snowbanks. Nice to see the sun brightening the icy shoreline, though.

Then we join Carli Ongie in 2013 for a look through the branches at the Portage Upper Entry Lighthouse. It’s a blur in the background and if it weren’t for the red bottom, you might not even see it in this photo. With all the white, snowy ice surrounding it, the beacon blends in well.

Melanie Hakala Rossi did some snowshoeing recently along the Lake Superior shoreline in Eagle Harbor, where they found the Lighthouse pretty iced in. Even though that built up, thick ice makes for a chilly scene, it also adds to the beauty of the shot, too. Melanie said it was quite cold on the Lake that day.

In today’s video, Norris Seward is taking us on a flight over the icy waters of Whitefish Bay and Point Iroquois Lighthouse, too.

UC...I just checked out 3704 Gay/Lac La Belle Rd and it looks like a great place to chill on a summer day. I understand why you miss it, I always thought I would be able to buy Hiawatha Lodge (in profile) someday, as well.

Well, if i was one of those independently wealthy types i'd buy the LB place and gift it to you UC. It deserves to have you as it's owner and caretaker.
